Who

Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest and fastest growing non-profit, no-kill cat shelter with its own on-site veterinary hospital - located 20 miles south of Portland. CAT rehabilitates and finds loving homes for the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, other rescue groups and veterinary offices to rescue cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. CAT, a 501(c)(3) publicly-supported charity, will save close to 3,000 lives this year and relies heavily on the support of the public and generous volunteers. CAT’s 10,000 square foot facility includes a friendly, colorful shelter with roomy cages, free-roam rooms, a full service veterinary hospital, a little cat boutique and a broad selection of 250 cats and kittens who are looking for their forever family.

What

With a full service onsite veterinary hospital, we are able to provide preventive and crisis medical care, as well as spaying or neutering all cats prior to adoption. By partnering with other community organizations, we effectively educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the value of cats in families. Everyone who visits us also learns about our indoor-only adoption policy and why we strongly discourage declawing.

When

Please visit our shelter seven days a week between the hours of 10am and 6pm (Friday and Saturday we are now open until 7 pm) to talk with an adoption counselor and view our wonderful cats and kittens. CAT cares for 250 to 300 cats and kittens at the shelter, our outreach locations, and in foster homes.

You can also adopt our cats through adoption outreach locations at one of four PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers, at PetCo in Tualatin, Pet Loft in Portland or Nature's Pet in Beaverton. Cats are on-site 7 days a week. Adoption hours at PetSmart are Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4pm or by appointment. Adoption hours at all other locations are during regular store hours.

Where

Directions from Portland to C.A.T. in Sherwood:

Take the Tualatin-Sherwood exit from I-5. Head west on Tualatin-Sherwood Road.
Bear left to stay on Tualatin-Sherwood Road.
Go 3.5 miles to Gerda (just after the railroad tracks). Turn right on Gerda.
Make an immediate right onto Galbreath.
C.A.T. is the second building on the left, across from the Sherwood DMV. [ map]
