All these dogs are in shelters in Southern California and are in need of home placement ASAP. PLEASE NOTE: MOST DOGS HAVE ABOUT TWO TO SEVEN DAYS FROM THEIR IMPOUND DATE BEFORE THEY ARE PUT TO SLEEP. DOGS THAT ARE "URGENT" HAVE RUN OUT OF TIME AND CAN BE PUT TO SLEEP IMMEDIATELY. SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, CALL IMMEDIATELY. Note ID number when contacting the particular shelter for information on the dog. Even though this site is updated regularly, the dog could still be on this site even though it has been adopted, so a phone call before you make the drive is advised.
Please check back often
Please check back often. New Cockers are impounded everyday and this website is updated at least four times per week. We now have an easier address to use thanks to Petfinder.com. www.casheltercockers.petfinder.com
Who We Are
Cocker Spaniel fans who just don't have enough room in our homes to keep these poor pups until loving families are found. There are just too many and they need your help.
Adopting a friend
When looking for a Cocker Spaniel, please keep in mind that most of the Cockers in the shelters come from families who just don't want them anymore, nor have they wanted them for some time. They can be and most likely will be very matted and dirty. Ear and eye infections are also very common. A bath, a trip to the groomer and some help from your Vet make all the difference in their appearance. Underneath will be that sweet smelling darling friend you are looking for.
