Carbon County Shelter

Our Pet List

"Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind's capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights, power or a claim to equality, but in a sense, because they don't. They all stand unequal and powerless before us."
~~~~~Mathew Scully~~~~~~
" We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certian immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan. "
~~~~~~ Irving Townsend~~~~~~

TRAINING=SUCCESS
A great deal of dogs that end up in shelters are there because of behavior issues easily solved with some basic training. We encourage all of our adoptive families to pursue at minimum a basic obedience class with there new family member.
Basic obedience with a knowledgeable training staff will help you to solve many of the "problem behaviors" common to most dogs such as jumping up, pulling on leash, running away and housebreaking issues.
In addition your veterinary office can be a great help in making your new dogs transition into your home and family a good experience for everyone!
