Otto is a 5 1/2 year old male Great Pyrenees whose owner passed away. He's a good-natured, gentle giant who loves attention, loves to rest on the sofa and will even play a some with other dogs. He's very loving and more than anything just likes to hang out. His ideal home is one with someone home during the day and a laid back, quiet household. He doesn't care for loud, rambunctious places. He needs a fenced yard, 5 ft or taller. Otto cannot go to a farm and must be an indoor dog. Otto is neutered and is current on shots. His adoption fee is $300 which includes all vet work. Contact email@example.com if you can give Otto a permanent home.
Who We Are
Canine Crusaders of Atlanta is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization, dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused and neglected dogs across the Atlanta area. Our focus is to find responsible and loving homes for every dog that enters our program. We have a lifelong obligation to each dog that comes to us and we do our best to make the best possible placement, matching each dog with the right home.
Adopting a pet
We adopt in the metro Atlanta, Ga area only and do not adopt out of state. We conduct home visits prior to each adoption, which we find is a crucial part of the adoption process. Once an application has been submitted and is approved for a dog, a home visit is done. All dogs go out for a 2 week trial period. If the trial period is successful and all parties agree this is the right home for the dog, the adoption will occur. Adoption fees are $225 which includes spay or neuter, all vaccines, heartworm test, de-worming and a microchip. For homes with children, you must have a fenced yard.
Donations are always needed to help offset our expenses, which include vet bills and as well as boarding bills. Some dogs live at boarding kennels or vet offices until a foster home is found. Additional expenses include supplies such as crates, collars, dog food, as well as flea and heartworm prevention.
Foster homes is one of our biggest needs in rescue. Without a home to stay in, these dogs either get turned away or have to live in a boarding facility. Foster homes provide a safe a loving home as well as food and we provide all vet care, as well as monthly flea and heartworm prevention.
We are always in need of dedicated volunteers who can help out with adoption events on the weekends. We currently hold pet adoptions at the Dunwoody Petsmart and welcome additional help at these events.
Surrendering a Pet
We are currently full and cannot take in any new pets, BUT we can help you find a home for your pet by posting them on our website, allowing them to come to our pet adoptions and helping screen applications as well as do home visit prior to adoption. If you want to give up a pet due to behavior problems, please reconsider giving up your pet. Behavior issues can usually be resolved with training, time and patience.
