Sapphire is a gorgeous white female Siberian Husky, around 4 1/2 years old. She currently lives with 2 small dogs and a 3 year old child and does great with all but really needs a dog her size to play with. She's lived with bigger dogs in the past and loves playing with dogs her size. Sapphire weighs around 55 lbs and has beautiful blue eyes and a gorgeous white coat. She's very spunky and loves to run and play outside. Sapphire is about 90% housebroken and needs a little more work in this department. She was kept as an outdoor dog in her previous home but now enjoys being able to come in the house. She's very smart and knows how to use a doggie door. Sapphire MUST have a 6 ft tall wooden fence in her new home and another playful dog. She's also spayed and current on shots. Check out other pictures of Sapphire at our Adoptable Pet List. If you can foster or adopt Sapphire, please contact us at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com.
Who We Are
Canine Crusaders of Atlanta is a non-profit, no-kill organization. We're dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused and neglected dogs across the metro Atlanta area. Our focus is to find responsible, loving and permanent homes for every dog that enters our program. We believe we have a lifelong obligation to every animal that comes to us, which is why we try to make the best possible placement, matching each dog to the right person.
Adopting a pet
We adopt in the metro Atlanta, Ga area only. We do not allow out of state adoptions. We're willing to drive within 2 hours of Atlanta but due to the fact that we do a home visit and are volunteer based, that's the maximum distance we can drive for an adoption.
We also require a fenced yard in all homes with children.
If you see a pet you would like to adopt, please email caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com for an application. Once we have your application and it's approved as a match for a particular dog, we will set up a time for you to meet the dog. Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, de-worming and microchip. All dogs are current on flea and heartworm prevention. If you have any questions, they can be answered by e-mailing us at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com.
Sponsoring a pet
If you're not able to adopt, you can still help! By sponsoring one or more of our pets you can help keep them happy and healthy while we find them permanent homes. You can choose an animal on our Adoptable Pet List and decide how much you'd like to donate and for how long. You'll receive updates on your sponsored pet as well as when they get adopted.
Donations
We're always in need of donations to help offset our boarding bills and vet expenses. Any donation is appreciated, big or small. We always have a dogs in boarding. Thankfully local boarding facilities are generous enough to give us a discount in order to give our dogs a place to live. It's still not a home, but with donations we are able to give them shelter, food, water and exercise. All that's missing is a loving home. We take donations by PayPal and by check. Email us for an address at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com. We're also in need of medium and large metal collapsable crates for pet adoptions and heartworm and flea control.
Surrendering a Pet
We are full and cannot take in any new pets, BUT we can help you find a home for your pet by posting them on our website, allowing them to come to our pet adoptions and helping screen applications as well as do a home visit prior to adoption. If you want to give up a pet due to behavior problems, please reconsider giving up your pet. Behavior issues can be resolved. All it takes is time and commitment with the help of a dog trainer or behaviorist.
