Welcome to Canine Connections!

Serving Lee County North Carolina, Canine Connections is listed with the N.C. Department of the Secretary as a Non-Profit Corporation.

Our Mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.

EMERGENCY - Please help Sarah!

Sweet Sarah and her babies were taken in by a local rescue after being abandoned by their owner. Sarah was severely emaciated and appeared to have been starved for some time but still was caring for her little ones. She is an excellent mom!

The rescue has been caring for Sarah and the babies, trying to get them back on track but Sarah has recently taken a turn for the worse. Sarah is currently being cared for at Southern Oaks Animal Hospital in Hope Mills.

She has undergone much testing and treatment which is becoming very costly and needs our help to see her through to recovery. The bill is already over $500 and climbing daily and Sarah is still struggling! If you are able to help at all please contact Southern Oaks Animal Hospital at (910) 424-3011. She is listed as Sarah Stevens. Please donate and help Sarah today.....

Sarah needs our help. Please donate if you can.

Abandoned in an empty house to fend for
herself and her 5 week-old puppies,
Sarah now struggles to survive
.

Poor Sarah was abandoned to starve with her 6 puppies.

All Canine Connections Pets (yes we do take in the occasional cat too) are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes. When time permits, our dogs are also housetrained and taught basic obedience.

We NEED loving foster homes - please help!Canine Connections Dogs  are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. If you are looking for a specific type of dog and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with other rescue groups and animal shelters and may be able to assist you in finding your next furry friend.

Volunteers are the backbone of any nonprofit organization and ours is no exception. Our rescue is run by folks who generously volunteer their time, homes and hearts in order to reduce the staggering numbers of unnecessary euthanization of otherwise healthy lovable animals.

Our Foster Care program provides these animals with a safe, healthy "place to be" until loving forever homes can be found for them. 100% of your donations help make this possible.  But we can't do it without your support. Many volunteers are needed to continue our mission.

If you would like to get involved, we certainly can use your help!  Please choose to make the difference in the life of another. We have various volunteer opportunities.....Anything you can do to lend us a hand would be very much appreciated!
