FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!! With the economy, boxers and schnauzers are being dumped right and left. We have a waiting list of dogs needing to come in when slots are open. If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time to check into it. We would love to visit with you about the process. Foster homes are to treat the foster dog as a personal dog until adopted. Must have fenced yards, keep dog indoors, crate train and help transport to meet-n-greets. Rescue takes care of all medical needs and only asks that the foster home purchases food. Email us if interested. BSROzarks@gmail.com
DONATIONS ARE TAX-EXEMPT! Please contact us if you would like to donate (cash, crates, dog food, blankets, collars, and leashes are ALWAYS needed!)
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Want to help with boxers and schnauzers in need? Wondering how you might be able to help! There are lots of ways! The easiest way to help is to make a donation to help cover the increasing vet bills. Short on cash but have a little extra room in your home and heart, how about fostering! Can't foster but have some time to spare? volunteer trainers are always needed. We try to put all dogs in the program though an obedience class but we need trainers to do this! Busy on training night but still want to help, we need people to hang flyers, assist with meet-n-greets, transport, numerous things. Just ask!
This Saturday, February 13th, BSRO will be doing microchipping at Orscheln's Farm & Home Store in Republic, for only $30. Bring your dog (or cat!) and have them microchipped for a discounted price. All proceeds to benefit the BSRO. Orscheln's is located at 1055 US Hwy 65 East-- east on Sunshine from Springfield.
On Saturday, March 13th, BSRO will be participating in the Springfield St. Patrick's Day Parade! Food and vendors open on the Springfield square at 11am, and the parade will start at 2pm. Visit their website for more information and a parade route. Wear green and come cheer us on! Free candy for the kids!
St. Patrick's Day Parade websiteEvery second Saturday of every month (canceled in March for the Springfield St. Patrick's Day Parade), BSRO will be at Petco in Branson! Petco is a great supporter of the rescue effort. We will be there from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Petco has just opened and is located at 993 Branson Hills Parkway, Branson, MO 65616. Come meet available boxers and schnauzers for adoption.
BSRO offers a service to the community of microchipping dogs and cats. For only $30, we offer you a choice of HomeAgain or AKC CAR chips and the registration is included. We are working on a clinic at a location but until then, we would be happy to meet you at a location to chip your pet. Feel free to email us for assistance.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO ADOPTIONS WILL BE DONE AT THESE EVENTS AS HOME VISITS ARE REQUIRED FIRST.
We would like to thank our wonderful vet that cares for our rescues (and personal dogs), Heath and Cynthia Wiseman and Springfield Veterinary Center on S. Campbell in the Shields Plaza (887-8030). If you currently have schnauzers or boxers, they are experienced in dealing with their needs. Thank you so much guys!
We are a Missouri licensed rescue, (and state non-profit) rescuing purebred Boxers and Schnauzers (all three sizes) with-in the state of Missouri. We are also a member of ABRA (the American Boxer Rescue Organization). We are located in southwest Missouri and concentrate our efforts in that area but will cover other areas of the state when needed. We are not a large rescue but are growing and in need of funds and foster homes. If you would like to help please e-mail at BSROzarks@gmail.com.
The adoption process starts with an application (found at www.midwestboxerrescues.com for boxers and by email for schnauzers). Once that is received, we will schedule a home visit to learn about you and your family (including your fur children!). This enables us to ensure that the boxer or schnauzer placed with you will be the best match for you and your family. We do require fences and most adopted boxers and schnauzers will require some form of group obedience class to help you bond with your new family member. All current pets need to be altered, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Please email us if you have any questions, we would love to visit with you. Please remember that boxers and schnauzers are indoor pets.
All our boxers and schnauzers are housed in private homes so that they can learn to be part of a family. Due to this, we do not have a facility you can visit out of respect for our foster homes privacy. But, you can come visit us at meet -n- greets! Our wonderful friends at Three Dog Bakery in Springfield, Natural Goodness for Pets in Nixa and Petco in Branson have been so kind about allowing us to bring our dogs for visits. Please visit their stores to look for information or come back here for dates and times.
