Our Featured Story

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!! Due to the economy, Boxers and Schnauzers are being dumped right and left. We have a waiting list of dogs needing to come in when slots are open. If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time to check into it. We would love to visit with you about the process. Foster homes are to treat the foster dog as a personal dog until adopted. Rescue takes care of all medical needs and only asks for the foster home to purchase food and help get your foster dog to meet-n-greets. Email us if interested at

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Want to help with Boxers and Schnauzers in need? Wondering how you might be able to help?! There are lots of ways! The easiest way to help is to make a donation to help cover our increasing vet bills. Are you short on cash but have a little extra room in your home and heart? Well, how about fostering! Can't foster but have some time to spare? We need people to hang flyers, assist with meet-n-greets, transport and numerous other things. Just ask!

DONATIONS ARE TAX-EXEMPT! Please contact us if you would like to donate (cash, crates, dog food, blankets, collars, and leashes are ALWAYS needed!).

BSRO would like to thank the following supporting organizations:

Springfield Veterinary Center

On the First Saturday of the month BSRO will be at PETCO in Branson and on the Third Saturday of the month, BSRO will be at All Pet Supply on Republic Rd in Springfield, MO.  Microchipping is available at this event for $30 and available Boxers and Schnauzers will be on site for you to meet.

BSRO offers a microchipping service for dogs and cats to the community and the registration is included. Feel free to email us for assistance.

We would like to extend a special "thanks" to our wonderful vets that care for our rescues (and personal dogs), Heath and Cynthia Wiseman and Springfield Veterinary Center on S. Campbell in the Shields Plaza (887-8030). If you currently have Schnauzers or Boxers, they are experienced in dealing with their needs. Thank you so much guys!

Who We Are

We are a Missouri licensed rescue, (and state non-profit) rescuing purebred Boxers and Schnauzers (all three sizes) within the state of Missouri. We are also a member of ABRA (the American Boxer Rescue Association), the Standard Schnauzer Club of America (, and are recommended by The American Miniature Schnauzer Club ( We are located in southwest Missouri and concentrate our efforts in that area but will cover other areas of the state when needed. We are not a large rescue but are growing and in need of funds and foster homes. If you would like to help please e-mail at

Adopting a Friend

The adoption process starts with an application (found at for Boxers and at for Schnauzers). Once the application is received, we will schedule a home visit to learn about you and your family (including your fur children!). This enables us to ensure that the Boxer or Schnauzer placed with you will be the best match for you and your family. We do require fences and most adopted Boxers and Schnauzers will require some form of group obedience class to help you bond with your new family member. All current pets need to be altered, up-to-date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Please email us at if you have any questions; we would love to visit with you. Please remember that Boxers and Schnauzers are indoor pets.

Come Visit Us!

All our Boxers and Schnauzers are housed in private foster homes so that they can learn to be part of a family. Due to this, we do not have a facility you can visit out of respect for our foster homes' privacy. But, you can come visit us at meet-n-greets!
