Our organization also has a special relationship with Bella Bella, Shear Water and Klemtu, which are small isolated First Nations communities where we refer to our work as "Spirits Mission". Big Heart Rescue is dedicated to stopping the overpopulation of pets in these First Nation communities and in addition to re-homing abandoned animals, we hold no cost spay and neuter clinics, vaccination clinics and provide medical intervention when required.
Big Heart Rescue is a registered non-profit charity, funded 100% by generous donations from individuals and organizations. All proceeds go directly to the care and rehabilitation of companions in need of veterinary services, training and re-homing. Big Heart Rescue does not have a shelter facility and all companions in our care are placed in loving foster homes until they find the family that is a perfect match.
Big Heart Rescue screens all potential adopters to ensure suitable matches are made between our rescues and adoptive families. Please e-mail us for an adoption application and we will also forward a copy of the adoption contract which must be signed and adhered to should you be approved to adopt a Big Heart Rescue dog or puppy.
If you can provide short-term foster care (we pay expenses, you provide love), or would like to sponsor an animal financially, please contact Big Heart Rescue by email.
