ABOUT US!

AZCR is a small, ALL VOLUNTEER with no paid employees, dedicated to improving the lives of dogs in the Southwest. All funds go directly to the dogs! Donations are Greatly Appreciated & May be Tax Deductible!

We do not have a facility for our rescued dogs, all dogs are fostered with a volunteer foster family until a home is found. We are always in need of additional foster homes, if you are interested, send us an email for more info!

We take in dogs that are in shelters throughout the Southwest if we have room or if there is a special need. We are members of the Southern California Cocker Coalition. We are able to coordinate transportation to/from California as needed.
We will adopt out of state if we find the perfect home for one of our angels ~ the adopter is responsible for transportation and must first come to AZ to meet the dog.

We try our best to match a potential family with the perfect rescued dog. We have the dog's best interest in mind and work to ensure a proper placement and a lifelong home for the dog. If at anytime in the dog's life, the adoptive family is unable to care for the dog, we do require the dog come back to AZCR as per the adoption contract. All our dogs must be inside dogs! Access to a doggie door is a great solution for working parents! Most AZCR foster homes use doggie doors so your adopted dog is used to having access to the outdoors during the day.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Volunteers are always needed! They may donate as much or as little time as they are able to, it all helps. Volunteers can help with a variety of functions and range from assistance in responding to phone calls and emails, helping out at adoption events, conducting home visits, or providing transportation to and from grooming & vet appointments. Just a small amount of time helps a lot.

Foster homes are always in short supply

We really need foster homes for senior dog or special needs dogs. Sometimes they need a stable or long term foster home that will allow them to heal. AZCR pays for the medical expenses and food, you just provide the love!

If we do not have a foster home, we have two options. We can board the dog, but it is expensive and the dogs don't get the attention they need and deserve. If we have the funds we will board the dog to save its life. Our other option is to refer the dog to another rescue and hope they have room. Please consider volunteering your home to save a homeless dog.

Our adoption fees rarely cover the amount of money we spend on our dogs. We are funded by our adoption fees and donations from the public. We are always in need of donations to help cover our medical expenses! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so your contribution may be tax deductible (check with your tax professional).

So pls consider sending a donation in any amount ~ it will be greatly appreciated (while $5 may not seem like a lot to some, it means a lot to us ~ so no amount is too small)!

or Donations may be sent to:

AZ Cocker Rescue PO Box 54489 Phoenix, AZ 85078 Or you may use PAYPAL, our account is azcockerrescue@aol.com.

Thank you for giving us the chance to save more dogs! Without donations, we wouldn't be able to save as many dogs!

IMPORTANT ADOPTION APPLICATION INFORMATION!

Arizona Cocker Rescue uses electronic signatures on its applications. By typing your name on the application signature line or clicking on "I agree" you have agreed to use an electronic signature. This has the same effect as a handwritten signature. If you do not wish to use an electronic signature please print the application, fill it out, sign the application and mail it to Arizona Cocker Rescue at the address above.

Please understand, that as all of our dogs live in foster homes, we require that you submit a complete application before you can meet the dog or cat you are interested in adopting. This is for the safety and protection of our volunteer foster homes.

We foster our rescue dogs in our homes allowing us to get to know their personality better. A complete application benefits you as the adopter because we can tell from the application what you are looking for in a pet and whether the dog you saw online would be a good fit. This saves you time in helping to identify the right dog personality of your new family member. We do respect your privacy and your application will only be shared with the volunteers needed to process it and complete the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

When we receive your application, we will email/call you to schedule a time to meet the dog(s) you are interested in. We will try to contact you a couple of times, if we do not hear back from you within a couple of days, we will assume you are no longer interested in adopting. If you do change your mind about adopting the dog you applied for, please send us an email and let us know.

Please remember we are all volunteers and work full time so it may take a day or more to get back to you, after we receive your application.

PLEASE COPY THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION INTO A NEW E-MAIL, COMPLETE AND SEND TO AZCOCKERRESCUE@AOL.COM (Sorry, incomplete applications will not be reviewed).
