Thanks to all your donations and support we currently have plenty of dry dog food and dry cat food! We are still in need of canned dog food, dog treats & rawhides, canned cat food, cat treats, litter, collars (buckle collars are preferred over snap), leashes, covered litter pans, baskets/beds for the open cat room. Also, any sort of cleaning supply such as... bleach, laundry/dish detergent, pine and floor cleaners, 30 gallon or larger size garbage bags, paper towels, mops, brooms and 10-gallon size shop vac bags. And of course Kuranda Dog Beds (see top of page for link)!! |

The Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc. was founded by a group of residents of Schoharie County disturbed by the plight of the many starved, abused and stray animals in this area.
ASSV is a not for profit organization and is made up of all volunteer members and board of directors, with the exception of the shelter manager and kennel workers.
The goal of ASSV has been to try to alleviate stray animal suffering and to build a shelter to house, feed and care for these animals until safe and loving homes are found for them.
ASSV also strives to educate the public to spay/neuter their pets to eliminate the problem of unwanted offspring.
In order to adopt a cat or a dog from ASSV you must first fill out an adoption form. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age in order to adopt a cat or a dog. If the applicant rents property, we must speak to the landlord by telephone or the renter can provide us with a lease agreement. We do not operate on a "first come first serve" basis but evaluate all applicants and decide what is best for the pets we rescue based on the needs of the dog/cat. This is not meant to discourage adopters in any way, but simply to help adopters understand that we must make the tough decisions about where our pets go.
Dogs-$110-Includes Spay/Neuter, Rabies Vaccine, Distemper Vaccine, Bordatella Vaccine, De-Wormer, Advantage, 4DX test, and a One Year license.
Puppies-$65 + $35 Mandatory Spay/Neuter Deposit-Includes Distemper Vaccine, Bordatella Vaccine, De-Wormer, Advantage, 4DX test, and a One Year license.
Cats-$70-Includes Spay/Neuter, Felv/FIV Test, Rabies Vaccine, Distemper Vaccine, De-Wormer, Advantage, and ear cleaning.
Kittens-$50 + $35 Mandatory Spay/Neuter Deposit-Includes Felv/FIV Test, Distempter Vaccine, de-Wormer, Advantage, and ear cleaning.
Please note that the mandatory spay/neuter deposit is a New York State law, and therefore, is non-negotiable.
MICROCHIPS are also now also available upon request for an additional $35!!
**Also please note that we can only accept cash or checks from local banks for payment; we do not process credit/debt cards.
