Who We Are

The Artemis Project is an animal welfare organization. Our goal is to alleviate the suffering of New York city's animals in crisis.

We strive to control and reduce the number of strays by using an approach known as TNR. Animals are trapped, spayed/neutered, and then either re-released or placed in loving homes.

We work exclusively with Lincoln Square Veterinary Hospital to provide medical care and temporary housing for the animals we help.

Volunteering

Our volunteers make a difference for every Artemis pet. Volunteers keep our cats healthy and happy while they are in our care. You don't have to even leave your home to volunteer for us. We need volunteers to spread the word about our adoptable cats. If you know of wonderful single-cat adopters, please contact us because we know many cats who don't want to share their homes with other pets. We also have special needs cats who are on medication. It takes a special person to help a cat with special needs. Please contact if you are this person.

Donations

Your donations fund our work. We could not help homeless pets without your love and support. Donations are always gratefully accepted. Please visit our online donations page to make a tax-deductible donation through Network for Good or make your donation payable to The Artemis Project and mail it to:

The Artemis Project c/o Dorian Rence,
