Foster Home Needed

Marcus (LEFT). was rescued from becoming a meal for a snake when he was a tiny baby. His initial rescuers became unable to care for him and at 3 months of age he was rescued a second time in his short little life by an ARFA volunteer. Marcus is growing up and needs a foster home with a big fenced yard to run off some of his puppy energy. Please open your heart and home to Marcus.

Cadence (RIGHT) needs a temporary foster home until she is adopted or a “forever home” where her goodness and tenacity of spirit will shine!

If you can foster either Cadence or Marcus, please contact us as soon as possible.

SPONSORSHIP SAVES LIVES

Sponsorship helps ARFA provide extraordinary care for the medical emergencies that sometimes arise.

If you would like to sponsor all or just part of the medical treatment for any of the dogs in our program, please let us know and you will be listed as their sponsor.

Thanks to Anne S. for all she has done with ARFA to rescue dogs in dire circumstances. Anne sponsored Miss Murphy until she was adopted and continues to sponsor Austin as he waits for his forever home. Anne sponsored the treatment, dear little Poncho needed when he came into the program with an undiagnosed back problem. Poncho recovered and was adopted. Anne sponsored Max who was finally moved into a foster home and Violet 2 who was adopted into her forever home. Anne stepped forward and sponsored the intensive, aggressive treatment Onyx needed to correct her serious skin condition. Jason, Onyx’s foster dad took over the sponsorship of Onyx until she was adopted and thanks to his diligent and effective care, her hair has grown back in and she needs only minimal maintenance medicine to keep her coat gorgeous.

Special Thank You's

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Annie B. whose birthday party was a planned gala to benefit homeless dogs and cats. Gifts, in turn, were donated to ARFA so they could be put to immediate use locally and include the following: $40.00 in cash, over 60 pounds of dog and puppy food, over 4 pounds of doggie snacks, 15 rawhide bones, 3 Chew Rope toys, 2 squeaky toys, a leash/adjustable collar combination, over 9 pounds of cat and kitten food and 2 cat toys. Annie’s generosity will certainly help the ARFA animals enjoy their transition time as they enjoy all these goodies while waiting to find their forever homes.

FOSTER HOMES URGENTLY NEEDED

If you have a loving heart and a strong desire to save a precious life, please consider taking in a "down on their luck" dog or cat. ARFA WILL PAY FOR ALL NECESSARY VET CARE, AND PROVIDE HEARTWORM AND FLEA PREVENTION FOR YOUR FOSTER. ARFA WILL ALSO PROVIDE FOOD IF NECESSARY. All we ask from you is that you open your hearts and homes to these helpless darlings, provide them with a safe haven, transport them to/from vet, and help us help them find their forever home by showing them with our group at an adoption event at least once a month. ARFA NEEDS YOU AND THEY NEED YOU EVEN MORE! Click here to fill out our online foster parent application.

Who We Are

Animal Rescue Fund of Arkansas is a new name for an old rescue group in central Arkansas. We are the same old ARF people organized now as ARFA. The name changed, but the mission remains the same.

Adopting a friend

Note: All applications are processed in the order received, but an adoption is made to the best application received for each of our animals. All applicants must provide a vet reference on the adoption application. If you are adopting a dog from ARFA, a fenced in yard for the dog will be required. Home visits often occur on each adoption. ARFA has the right to deny adoption to any applicant for any reason without explanation.
