WHY WE RESCUE? THEY NEED OUR SUPPORT AND YOURS! We realize that you get inundated with requests for help. Forgive us, we only ask on behalf of those who can't. Become an Animal Ambassador and generously donate to our programs -- your choice of a donation, however great or small, saves lives. Also, please let us know if your organization has a matching gifts program. We appreciate every donation because it helps us continue to say Yes...Pay-it-Forward: support your local shelter or rescue organization (they are often overlooked), create a connection -- foster an animal in need, organize a fundraiser, generate letter campaigns to legislators/media/business, make miracles happen and reap the rewards

PEACEMAKING WE CAN LEARN FROM DOGS

1. Never pass up on the opportunity to go for a joy ride. 2. Allow the experience of fresh air & the wind in your face to be pure ectasy. 3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. 4. When it's in your best interest, practice obedience. 5. Let others know when they have invaded your territory. 6. Take naps and stretch before rising. 7. Run, romp, and play daily. 8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. 9. Be loyal. 10. Never pretend to be something you're not. 11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. 12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close, nuzzle them gently. 13. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. 14. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. 15. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. 16. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. 17. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. 18. No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.

VICTORY FARM IS...

Welcome! Founded for the Welfare of Animals -- we are a cruelty-free working farm (crop only) located in New York State (home base) with volunteers throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. The companion and livestock animals that live here have all been rescued from abuse, neglect or slaughter. Our mission is to educate the public on animal-related topics, provide shelter relief and support, fund low cost spay/neuter programs to individuals with genuine financial need and the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of homeless herding dogs. Through the generous hearts and hands of people like you, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of Victory Farm will never again suffer.

BECOME A FRIEND OF THE FARM

DEAR ANIMAL FRIEND, GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE. Angels wanted, adopt an animal in spirit! Some animals come to the farm with a variety of emotional and/or behavioral "issues". For these special animals, their stay with us may last one to six months or they remain with Victory Farm until they pass. Along the way, we have committed ourselves to bonding, socializing and healing with them in order to rebuild their trust in humans. Sponsorships make a great gift or milestone like a wedding, birthday, anniversary or your own meaningful occasion. Additionally, you can change the life of a homeless animal by remembering Victory Farm in your will or estate plan...Interested in learning more? Contact us for details. Also, consider adding this simple sentence: I give the sum of $___________ to Victory Farm Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that currently operates at 822 U.S. Highway 20, West Winfield, NY 13491, Tax ID:38-3648937. If you already have your will made out, your lawyer can easily add this request to it with a codicil. Please include Victory Farm Foundation, Inc. in your will - such as naming VFF as a residuary legatee or as a beneficiary in any trust created by your will. Your lawyer can assist you with these alternative methods of expressing your generosity. Whatever method you choose, be assured that the abandoned, unwanted, and abused animals of VFF that we save, care for, and find homes for, deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness. If you have a pet, don't forget when preparing your will to make the necessary arrangements for its future care in the event of your death. If interested in donating, click here:

COMPASSION CORNER

Does the food you eat or fur you wear have a face? Have you ever kissed a cow or given a duck a hug? Did you know in some Asian countries dog and cat meat is considered a "main" course? What do our companion animals, barnyard buddies and wildlife have in common...that's easy, a soul, feelings and the desire to bond. They are sentient beings who experience fear, pain and suffering in the wrong environment. If you are interested in leading a more compassionate and healthy lifestyle, please visit: www.farmsanctuary.org -- and for those die hard meat eaters, we encourage you to watch Peaceable Kingdom, a documentary based on the slaughterhouse and factory farm industries -- the movie may change the way you look at the "food" (or rather flesh) that you eat. FYI, fish are not plants.

OPERATION: SPAY NATION

~ a rural initiative program promoting responsible sterilizaion. OSN was created to end the senseless euthanasia of 12 million animals annually, yes annually. We want to create awareness and one day bring an end to animal homelessness. The Sad Truth: It costs approximately $125 to capture, house, kill and dispose of an animal compared to an average of $75 to spay or neuter that animal.

IMPORTANT WAYS YOU CAN HELP ANIMALS

SPAY/NEUTER: Please help control the every growing pet overpopulation problem. Remember to have your animal Spayed (female) or Neutered (male). Below are a list of low-cost spay/neuter programs (local and national): 1. The Spayed Club: 610-275-7486 2. Friends of Animals: 1-800-321-7387 3. SNAP: 410-885-5783 or 302-838-6996 4. SPAY USA: 1-800-248-SPAY Shop Cruelty-free! Only buy products that are not tested on animals. Please contact PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) 757-622-7382 or email: info@PETA.org for a free pocket guide. Be Brave! If you see someone harming an animal or you see a stray or injured animal in need, get involved. Call you local animal control officer or police department and file a complaint. Helping Stray/Feral Cats: Please consider doing the following to make the life of a Stray/Feral cat's life more meaningful: 1. Have the cat spayed/neutered (see our low cost spay section above) to reduce reproduction. Also, have the cat vaccinated to cut down on contagious diseases. 2. Build a shelter using a Large Rubbermaid container. Simply turn the container over (top on), cut a hole in the middle of the container (big enough for a cat to fit through, but to keep the rain/snow out), nail to a pallet (if available), place in a well hidden area. 3. Provide food and water. We recommend a self feeder/waterer.
