Meet Us and Some of Our Adoptables...
Because of everyones CRAZY schedules, we are not doing adoption events on a regular basis at this time. We are always willing to do "meet and greets" once you have completed the initial phase of our adoption process....filling out an APPLICATION and talking to the foster mom of the dog you are interested in to make sure you are a good match.
About US...
We would like to take a minute and tell you about "us". We are a group whose members have been in rescue for anywhere from a year to many years. We are dedicated to saving the lives of pets that would otherwise die in shelters or be surrendered to shelters. Once those lives are safe and in our homes (we do NOT have a shelter), they are spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, heart worm tested - treated if positive, given dentals (teeth cleaned) if needed and started on flea, tick & heart worm prevention. We also try to crate train and house train any dog that is not already. You will notice that many of our pets are not suitable for homes with small children. This is usually because of either their small size or past experiences where kids have not treated them kindly and they are scared of children. We do try to make mention in the pets "bio" what minimum age child with which we think the pet would be okay.
Fosters Needed....Can't Adopt, We Still Need You!!
We are bursting at the seams with foster dogs, and calls and emails come in every day from someone with a dog that is shelter bound or already in a shelter and facing death. Therefore, we are always looking for foster homes. If you have the space in your home and heart to save a critter from death,
EMAIL US. Yes, it is hard to let them go after you have loved them for the time they are with you, but it makes room for another to live. The joy and happiness you get when you see this critter thriving in its new home is indescribable. We are very thorough in checking out our adoptive homes, so we are as certain as possible that our rescued companions go to only the best possible homes for them. That makes it a bit easier to sleep when they "leave" us. Although, they never really leave...a little piece of your heart goes with them and a little tiny part of them stays with us forever. We encourage our adoptive parents to stay in touch and become part of our "family". Let us know if you would like to be a part of this program. Or, if fostering is not for you...perhaps you would like to sponsor a dog (donate the shelter fee or help cover his or her vet bills or help buy the food, flea and tick prevention or heartworm prevention they get each month). Any help is greatly needed and appreciated even more. Thanks so much.
Our "Ark Angels"
AmyzArk could not function with out its ANGELS....Our list of ArkAngels has grown too big to mention everyone without taking up way too much space or worse yet, forgetting someone. Just know if you have ever helped any of our babies in any way....YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!!!
Adopting a friend
Submitting an APPLICATION is the first step. When an application for a pet is received, it is forwarded to that animal's foster mom for processing. The approval process includes a vet reference check and a home visit. We do require all other animals in the home be spayed or neutered, and if you rent or lease, you must provide proof that you are allowed to have pets (copy of lease) and that any applicable pet deposit has been paid (receipt or letter from landlord).
Our Wish List
Since our rescue group is operated strictly on a volunteer basis and funded only by the adoption donations we collect, many of the "incidentals" are paid for straight out of the pockets of the volunteers. Some of the items we go through quite quickly are:
leashes and collars
food and water bowls
flea and tick prevention (Frontline, Advantage, Advantix)
heartworm prevention (Heartgard, Sentinal, Iverheart, Ivermectin)
towels and blankets
treats and toys
dog cages and crates

Come Visit Us!
Sorry, but we dont have a shelter for you to visit. All of our critters live in our homes with us. Before allowing anyone to come visit our critters in our homes, we require that you submit an APPLICATION and be at least past the reference check portion of the approval process. Each foster mom makes visitation arrangements for her critters; just let us know which critter you are interested in and we will put you in touch with the right foster mom. This "pre-approval" policy is for the safety of our foster mom and the critters. Plus, there's no need for you to visit and meet a critter that will not be appropriate for your home and lifestyle.
