How You Can Help

We always welcome donations! Our wish list includes:

  1. Guinea Pig Pellets – we use Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Cavy Performance
  2. Hay – our pigs’ enjoy the hay from KM’s Hayloft (esp. the bluegrass hay, or the alfalfa/bluegrass mix for growing pigs), Oxbow or Sweet Meadow Farm (esp. the sweet meadow hay) too!
  3. Veggies! We would greatly appreciate gift certificates to local grocery stores (Hannaford or Price Chopper) in order to keep our foster pigs supplied with fresh vegetables.
  4. Vet Care – if you are interested in donating toward vet care of pigs in rescue, please contact us. We can arrange for you to donate directly to the treating veterinarian.
  5. Thank you for your interest in helping our rescue animals!

Who We Are

Amiable Animals helps homeless pets find loving, life-long families. All of our rescue animals are housed in foster homes. We mainly have guinea pigs available for adoption, but on occasion may have other pets available as well.

Text Box: Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting please contact us, and we will e-mail you the adoption questionnaire, which you are required to fill out. The next step is to verify housing where we can see the set up you have for your new pet and answer any questions you might have about them and their care.

We do not adopt out single guinea pigs unless they are going as a companion to another pig. Guinea pigs are social animals and need to be housed at least in pairs. If you have a lonely pig please contact us and we can help you choose the right companion.

Guinea Pigs require lots of space to run and play. The cages that are sold in pet stores are MUCH TOO SMALL! Please don’t use one for your pig. Take a look at the links provided to find out about how to make your own roomy enclosure for your pigs. If you are adopting from us, we may be able to provide a home for a small donation to cover the supplies – please ask!

Guinea Pigs require more than just pellets – they must have an unlimited supply of high quality grass hay, as well as fresh vegetables daily.
