Urgent - Many Cats were taken from hoarding situation in a home in Chester. These cats are in a temporary shelter in Mendham.

Please stop by if you can volunteer or adopt.

Mendham Shelter Contact: Barbara 973-255-0351

Directions to the Mendham Temporary Shelter for the Hoarding Situation of the Cheter Cats.

These directions are from the corner of Dover Chester Road and Calais Road.(in Randolph heading towards Mendham)
Head south on Dover Chester road.
You will see a fire station on your left and a church. Take the first left which is South Road.
You will follow South Road for about 3 - 4 miles.
landmarks: After a couple of miles, you will see Cromwell Drive on your right. Then you will see Cromwell Drive on your right again (as it is shaped like a horseshoe).
A litte further after you see the second Cromwell Drive, make a left onto Ironia Road. (It is very hard to see the sign - if you don't see it, make the left anyway).
Go about 800 feet. You will see a wooded area on your left. When the wooded area clears, there will be a mailbox "97" and a sign that says something like "India Brook Park Mendham."
Make a left onto that driveway and drive up a mountain about 1/4 mile. When you get to the top, you will see the kennels with all the cars parked outside.

Stop by and possibly meet your new best friend!

At Last! An Oral Contraceptive for FERAL Cats. As anyone trying to curb the growth of a feral cat colony knows, it is often difficult—if not impossible—to trap every cat for spay/neuter surgery before it reproduces. Now FeralStat™, a feline oral contraceptive, is aiding in the management of feral cat colonies worldwide. FeralStat™ is safe, effective, convenient, affordable...it works. It will enable you, the feral cat caretaker, to become the Last Guardian of your colony.

Muffin - Couch Cat-Potato

"My name is Muffin. I was once somebody's pet until I was dumped in the woods. A kind lady was feeding me for many months and one day she just picked me up and brought me to a foster home."

"I am a real cat-couch potato now that I am in a home and warm and fed. My foster family loves me and I love to sit around and enjoy their company. My foster mother says I am her little princess - Imagine me a princess? - from being dumped in the woods, to being loved and well cared for. Won't you take me home so you can be my new family?"

Muffin is about 3 years old. Best of all, everything is done for you. Muffin is spayed, combo tested, vaccinated and always uses her litter box.

For more information, contact Claudine at 973-886-1485 or e-mail:

“I loved them the others, the ones that left me
But I wasn’t good enough – for they didn’t want me
I pray that you do – I’m so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage
Will you still want me?

If you have more than one cat
and suddenly a litter box problem arises,
it is best to find out "who" before figuring out "why."
If the vet rules out medical causes,
stress may be the reason for missing the box and
separate extra litter boxes are in order.

"Your Cat"

I adopted your cat today.
The one you left at the pound.
The one you had for ten years
And no longer wanted around.

I adopted your cat today.
Do you know he's lost weight?
Do you know he's scared and depressed
And has lost all faith?

I adopted your cat today.
He had fleas and a cold,
But don't worry none.
You've unburdened your load.

I adopted your cat today.
Were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies
Or was there no reason he couldn't stay?

I adopted your cat today.
He doesn't play or eat much.
He's very depressed,
But he will learn again to trust.

I adopted your cat today
And here he will stay.
He's found his forever home
And a warm bed to lay.

I adopted your cat today
And I will give him all that he could need.
Patience, love, security, and understanding.
Hopefully he will forget your selfish deed.

Please do not overlook an older cat; They make wonderful loving companions.

Rescue Angels

Tail tucked between your legs,
Confusion in your eyes
I know it?s hard to understand
That someone hears your cries.
When loneliness is all you know
And pain is all you feel
And no one can be trusted,
And hunger?s all too real.
That?s the time the Lord sees you
And lets you know He?s there.
That?s when He sends His messengers
The hearts that love and care.
Yes, rescuers are angels
You cannot see their wings,
They keep them neatly folded
As they do their caring things.
The medicine to make you well
Good food to make you strong,
And finally to help you learn
That hugs are never wrong.
The perfect place then must be found
The house where you will live
Secure and safe and happy
With joy to get and give.
When you reach your forever home
Your place to feel whole,
Then we smile and off we go
TO SAVE ANOTHER SOUL.

Please speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. If you see an animal in need and don't know what to do, call your local Animal Control. If you don't know their number - call your police!

SUCCESS STORY!

See a list of our Adopted Pets!

~ Spay and neuter your pets. It is the only way we can prevent the mass euthanasia of homeless animals. For every puppy/kitten that is born, it is one less animal that will be adopted from a shelter. ~ Look at our Pet List. Every animal on it was "dumped" by their owners. When you own an animal it is a lifetime commitment. Cherish them. No human will ever love you more.

Some cats will always make a dash for the door, even if they don't want to go out. Training with a water spray bottle or shake can may help. And in an emergency, you can throw your keys down in front of you to interrupt a getaway. KEEP YOUR CATS SAFE FROM HARM - ALWAYS KEEP THEM INDOORS!

If you didn't see the pet of your choice on our Pet List, please click here to visit the Randolph Municipal Pound Pet List
