Bart is a veteran member of PARS. We really can't figure out why because he is a wonderful dog with good manners and a love for his people. He is a young dog who has been with us since he was a puppy. Bart just can't understand why everyone keeps passing him, but his foster mom has promised that is it because some very special will be coming for him.

Who We Are
Prairie Animal Rescue Society is a humane shelter that operates out of High Prairie, Alberta, but is helping pets find homes all throughout the Peace Country and mid-north Alberta. We are a no-kill shelter. An animal will never be put down because it has been with us for too long or because we need to create more room. We are 100% volunteer run. All pets are cared for in loving foster homes, eliminating high overhead involved in running a building with utility and staffing costs.
Adopting a friend
Please call us or check out our adoptable pets online. If you are interested in meeting any of our furry fellas, we can make arrangements with you. We will also try our best to match you with a pet that is the most suitable to your needs. The adoption fee for a dog is $250 and for a cat it is $126. This covers the spay/neuter, first shots, deworming, microchip, and any other medical the pet has needed to make it adoptable.
