ADI Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. It stems from the registry of Akbash Dogs International, with intentions to assist with rehoming and rescuing Akbash Dogs that are in need.
Ideally, we would like to avoid having Akbash Dogs entering public humane society shelters, but this is not possible as there are many non-ADI breeders that do not support spaying and neutering their pups, or placing them into qualified homes before making the sale final. Realistically speaking, the dogs that ADI Rescue saves and adopts out, do not come from ADI breeders. They are usually from individuals who have not taken responsibility for the litters they have produced.
If you are interested in adopting, then please look at our list of available dogs, and contact the coordinator that is listed. ADI Rescue requires interested parties submit an application, and screening for potential adopters.
We have working LGD's and companion dogs available.
