If driving to the shelter it is easier to find if you drive to Chauncey as that is the town closest to the shelter. Street address is 13333 St. Rt. 13.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 5:30
Wednesday 10:00 to 7:00
Saturday 10:00 to 1:00
Closed Sunday

Directions from east or west:
It is *VERY IMPORTANT* to CALL and stop by in person!! The dogs are held as long as there is space. It could be 2 weeks or just 3 DAYS, so, please, if you are interested CALL!!!!!
From the north: Take Route 33 east to the State Route 13 exit. Go thru Chauncey on 13 south. We are approximately 1/2 mile from Chauncey on the right, next to the County Home and Job and Family Services.
From Athens: Take Route 33 west to the 13 exit. Take 13 north 2 1/2 miles. We are located on the left, just after the County Home and Job and Family Services.
County Dog Licenses
ALL dogs in the county must have a license even if they live inside or have a fenced-in yard.
Dog licenses can be obtained from the Athens County Auditor’s office, 15 South Court Street, Room 330, Athens, Ohio 45701. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, (740) 592-3226. With money from the dog license fees the county can afford the employees needed to take care of the dogs of the county.

Wish List items include: Dry Dog Food, especially Puppy food, Heavyduty Trash Bags at least 3 mill in weight and 33 gallon in size, old blankets, comforters, and towels for bedding, mop heads, and First Aid items such as Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin.
