Our Featured Pet...


As you may allready know, the association for animal rights, Inc. Adopt a Pet center is your local non-profit animal shelter. It is the only no-kill animal shelter in the area and that makes us very special. We have rescued many unwanted pets such as: Cats, Dogs, Kittens and Puppies.

News

We have been successful in finding loving homes for hundreds of pets that would have otherwise continued to suffer from illness, neglect or even worse fate at kill shelters. If you could give any gift this year, what better gift to give that a second chance at life for a homeless pet. We have a difficult task ahead of us but we know that with the help of animal lovers like you, we can be a success.

Who We Are

In 1989, we started to do what we could for animals who needed our help, and in 1998 we opened our shelter. Our adoption program finds homes for unwanted pets and provides medical attention for sick or neglected pets who need a second chance at a good home. If you are interested in adoption please call our adoption line at 410-526-5224. We also are accepting donations for the food, shelter, and medical treatment for some of the many unwanted animals. We cannot stress enough the importance of having your pets spayed or neutered.

Adopting a friend

We always have many cats and dogs looking for loving homes. Our adoption process is to visit our shelter and fill out an application on the pet of your choice, that pet is then put on hold pending approval, and usually takes between 1-3 days. The purpose of this is so that we can be assured that the animal is going to a committed, responsible, life long home so that there is a happy ending for both you and your new pet. We only accept personal checks for adoptions. All of our pets are up to date on routine shots, treated for fleas, and dewormed. if they are of age, they are altered. Cats and kittens are tested and negative for feline aids/leukemia. Dogs are tested for heartworm and fecal. All pets come with vet records, and all adoption fees are tax deductible.
