Who We Are

The Rock Springs Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the placement of previously homeless animals in new, loving environments.

We alter and vaccinate all animals prior to placement, and screen all applicants to ensure a lifelong match between people and pets. We also educate the community about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, proper pet care, and animal welfare. We place dogs, cats and exotic animals in loving, forever homes!

Special Fundraising Event

Join us Tuesday, February 16th at 6pm at Johnny Mac's for the Best of Show Party & Auction! All proceeds from this event will benefit the animals here at the Rock Springs Humane Society.

We receive no federal, state or local funding, and operate completely on donations. Many thanks to our donors for all their generosity. Your acts of kindness make life possible for many happy, healthy, furry creatures. We can't do it without you!

We are also always in need of in-kind donations. Right now we are looking for the following: Paper towels, bleach, garbage bags, postage stamps, cat beds, plastic storage totes with lids (to store dog and cat food), a basic tool kit (drill, hammer, screwdrivers, etc.). Everything is greatly appreciated!

Volunteering

If you would like to volunteer at our shelter, help with public events, fundraising, public relations, etc., you will be giving the greatest gift of all: your time and love. We always need loving people to come play with and socialize the wonderful animals every day. Please contact us using the phone number and email address provided below.

Specials

We currently have some exciting specials at the shelter!

We are offering a 10% Senior Citizen discount on any animal adopted, as well as special pricing on animals that have resided at our shelter longer than six months.

We also have a wonderful new program called the Senior to Senior Program. When a (human) senior citizen adopts a (canine or feline) senior citizen it's just half price!

Adopting a Friend

All applicants are screened and a home visit is conducted to ensure the best match between you and the pet you wish to adopt. Your honesty during the application process will ensure you adopt the best pet for you...and that the animal receives the best home!

To keep in mind when you're considering adoption: we do not allow dogs to be kept on chains and we do not allow dogs or cats to be kept solely outdoors. The animals in our care are full of joy and affection -they deserve to be your cherished companions!

Our fees are $100 for dogs, $120 for puppies, $80 for cats and $100 for kittens. Also on puppies and kittens that are too young to be altered there will be a $75 deposit until you show proof that you got it done. The adoption fee for exotic animals varies by species. This fee covers the cost of spaying/neutering your new pet, and providing vaccinations.

We also welcome any inquiries from breed rescue organizations concerning the adoption of our purebred animals. We have the most respect for all the dedicated and hardworking people giving their all for the breed they love, and will be glad to work with any breed rescue organization that believes in spaying/neutering.
