The Putnam County Humane Society is a non-profit rescue/foster organization located in Hurricane, WV. We are dedicated to saving the lives of the abandoned and abused animals of Putnam County; those coming directly to us and those being housed at the county run shelter, Putnam Animal Relief Center in Winfield.
Dogs and cats in the pictures are in foster care and ready for adoption. We do have a no "de-claw" policy for our cats that are up for adoption. All animals are spayed or neutered and are given their basic shots, along with a wormer. The adoption fees are $35 for cats and $40 for dogs. If you see a pet you are interested in, please call 304-586-5315.
Volunteers from the Putnam County Humane Society take homeless animals to PETSMART at the Shoppes of Trace Fork for adoption. We have cats at the Luv-a-Pet center 7 days a week and we have dogs there every Saturday from 10-5. Come and adopt from the Luv-A-Pet Center. The adoption fees are the same, cats are $35 and dogs are $40. All animals are spayed or neutered and are given their basic shots, along with a wormer.
The Putnam County Humane Society has a thrift store, Paws and Shop, located at 2806 Putnam Avenue in Hurricane. We are always accepting donations of non-clothing items at our shop. Our thrift store is run by an all volunteer staff and all proceeds from our shop are used to support our spay/neuter and medical assistance programs for limited income families as well as our foster spay/neuter program.
