ACWP. Inc. invites all animal lovers in the Summers County area and beyond to join our organization. We have many ambitious projects and are welcoming volunteers for all big and small tasks, including opening your home as a foster parent for the animals in our care.
We also currently have plans for construction of a no-kill shelter, giving ACWP broader ability to promote and care for the welfare of animals in our community.

Who We Are
The Animal Control and Welfare Project, Inc. (Summers County Humane Society) is a non-profit corporation, located in Summers County, WV. We are working to promote the humane treatment of all animals in our area. We have many projects including educational projects, adoption projects, investigation of reports of abuse and neglect, and generally the promotion of the care and welfare of all the animals in our area. We are operated completely through the work of volunteers.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting an animal in our care, please email (acwpcoordinator@hotmail.com) or call us (304.466.6935) with any questions or requests. We are happy to work with you to guarantee that both you and your new companion match in lifestyle and personality.
Come Visit Us!
Currently, we do not have a shelter. Animals in our care are placed in foster homes until they can be placed into suitable homes. If you are interested in meeting an animal listed on this site, please contact us by email (acwpcoordinator@hotmail.com) or leave a message on our voice mail system (304.466.6935) and we will arrange a meeting.
