FREE CATS!
Webark Estates Animal Shelter is trying to find homes or farms for a very large colony of cats. The neighbors are wanting to be rid of the cats, and the renter at the residence is incapable of taking care of them. Some of these unfortunate cats are tame, while others are a bit wild. Some would adapt to an inside life, and others would gladly work on a farm, in exchange for food and care. The cats will be spayed/neutered, tested (FeLV, FIV), fully vaccinated, and treated with Revolution. The cats are free to approved homes, as the usual Webark adoption fee will be waived. If you, or someone you know, can give one (or more) of these cats a good home, please call 304-845-0855.

Webark 5K

The 2010 Webark 5K will be April 3, 2010 (Easter Weekend) behind Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glendale, WV. Race Director is Tom Rownd of the Ohio Valley Runners & Walkers Club in Wheeling, WV. Run or walk, there will be prizes, t-shirts, and refreshments, with D.J. "Mr. Twister" playing great music . Pets may walk, but the hospital does not permit them in the building. The award ceremony is held after the walk in the hospital, & refreshments are also served inside. To pre-register for the race, go to iplayoutside.com or call 304-845-0855 and we will mail an application to you. This is Webark's largest fundraiser of the year...we hope to see you there!

Spay Day Campaign February 23, 2010

Webark is participating in the Spay Day Campaign on February 23, 2010. Spay Day is an annual campaign of The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International to inspire people to save animal lives by spaying or neutering pets and feral cats. Officially the last Tuesday of February, Spay Day includes events and activities taking place throughout February across the United States and U.S. territories, and around the world. VOTE FOR "ENDLESS" (A Webark Kitty) at the following site: http://photocontest.humanesociety.org/contest.html?page=viewInd&id=48213&contestId=2 (Votes cost $1.00 each but Webark gets the $1.00! And...might win prizes!) And join Webark for "Pam's Birthday Wish", a birthday celebration for Pam Lacefield, who founded Webark Estates No-Kill Animal Shelter in 2002. Pam's birthday is Feb. 23, which falls on Spay Day USA in 2010, and Pam's birthday wish is to spay & neuter 100 or more animals! To get involved & help celebrate, send your tax-deductible donation to: Webark Estates, Inc., P.O. Box 918, Moundsville, WV 26041. Specify that your contribution is in honor of Pam's birthday, and the funds will be used to spay/neuter needy animals in the community!

Disney "Give A Day Get A Day"

Volunteer for Webark in 2010 in association with Disney Park's "Give A Day Get A Day"! This year, Disney Parks is celebrating the good things people do for their communities. In 2010, Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their community, and will celebrate their good works by giving each of them a one day admission to a theme park at Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, free! Guests can go to www.disneyparks.com to search for volunteer opportunities made available through HandsOn Network and sign up for a day of volunteer service. As the nation’s largest volunteer network, HandsOn Network has 250 on-the-ground volunteer action centers across the country and connects volunteers to more than 70,000 nonprofit agencies that need their help. Many of the opportunities will be projects that entire families can participate in together. You must pre-register and sign up for eligible volunteer opportunities at DisneyParks.com. Ticket quantities for this program are limited. Must be at least age 6 to participate. Other terms and conditions apply. For details, see DisneyParks.com.

About Us

Webark was founded in 2002 by Morgan & Pam Lacefield, well known community leaders and co-owners of 14 Ohio Valley Domino's Pizza stores. Since 1984, the Lacefield's, who have 9 adopted children, have assisted nearly every cause in the Ohio Valley. Because of their special fondness for helping animals, their dream of an animal sanctuary became a reality with the opening of Webark, the only "No-Kill" facility in the immediate area. Fundraisers include Christmas Pet Pictures at Prestige Photography in Wheeling, WV, in November, the Annual Auction, the Beast of A Sale in Moundsville in the Spring, and the Webark 5K, organized by the Ohio Valley Runners & Walkers Club based in Wheeling, WV When you adopt from Webark Estates 'No Kill" Animal Shelter, you send a message that you support the "No Kill Movement", along with getting the warm and fuzzy feeling of saving a life! Adopting a pet from Webark's No Kill Animal Shelter thus opens up a space for another animal, and the folks at Webark then go to a shelter that does euthanize, and save another one!
Have a pet you can't keep? Webark offers a “matchmaker” service to pet owners looking to find a new home for their pet. Call Webark or email if you need help placing your pet. Webark Estates is a 501 C-3 organization, dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless pets and reducing pet overpopulation. ALL are volunteers at Webark...no salaries are paid...we are just folks who love animals and enjoy saving lives. We receive no county or government funding.
"Joan's Fund", established by patron Joan Kelvington, provides matching funds up to $500 to save dogs in danger of being euthanized.
The "Delma Schank Guardian Angel For Injured Stray Cats Fund", established by the estate of Delma Schank, assists injured stray cats.
