Our Purpose: to provide for the betterment of domestic animals by providing care for abused, neglected and unwanted animals, seek responsible individuals to adopt these animals, inform and educate both pet owners and non-pet owners in responsible pet interaction and care and promote spaying and neutering of dogs and cats to reduce population.
The dogs and puppies in our care have daily interaction with our volunteers, who are fostering them in their homes. They are provided with health care, socialization, one on one physical stimulation and love. We assess each animal on their temperment to the best of our ability to be able to provide as much information as we can regarding the animal's behavior and personality. Unfortunately, background history is usually not available. We get to show off their accomplishments at PetSmart in Winchester, VA from 10-4 every Saturday, where the dogs get a chance to come out and mingle with new people and canines.
Aftercare support is also available to help address any bad behavior that may arise after the dog is placed in a new home. Our goal is a great home for each dog and a great dog for each home. We are very happy to work with you sharing tips, expertise and where else you can turn for help in order to modify any current behavior into the proper one. Remember, almost all behavior is correctable using patience, love and positive reinforcement. Lost pets not wearing some form of ID do not usually get returned to their homes. PLEASE have some sort of identification on your dog at all times.
