What if you suffered from homelessness, disease and starvation?
You would hope for rescue. Right now, thousands of dogs and cats born in rural Appalachia face a brief life of reproduction, starvation and death. There are NO animal shelters (kill or otherwise) in the area of Mingo County West Virginia. Animals are left to starve in the mountains. Homeless animals are poisoned, shot, or condemned to a neighboring county's kill shelter. Scores of homeless dogs roam the roads & backwoods in search of food and shelter. The problem is staggering.
AARF rescues Appalachia's homeless animals
AARF is a registered 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization.
Alexis Hunt who lives in Delbarton is a one woman show. She works so hard to help these poor dogs. Unfortunately, there are so many that she cannot help. Many people just dump their dogs up in the mountains.
Our most urgent need is donations to pay for spay/neuters, medications, food, and transports of our rescued animals. If you would like to donate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org* 25670
