Who We Are
Mostly Mutts Pet Rescue is a temporary home for wayward, abandoned and unwanted dogs of all breeds. We have dogs of every shape, size and color and certainly have a dog here that will fit your needs and fill your heart.
We are a very small and compassionate group of dog lovers who saw a need to help the dogs in our rural area and are working hard to match loving dogs with approved families where they can live out their lives in happiness and comfort.
Because of the number of pets in need in our area, we are totally full at this time and are not accepting any new dogs into our program. Please do not call us with dogs that need a home because we simply do not have the space or the funds to take them in at this time.
Adopting a friend
If you see a dog on our website that you think would be a good match for your family, please email us and set up an appointment for a visit. You will meet the dog, and we will ask you some questions about your home and yard, as well as questions about other pets that you may have now or had in the past. If we think that you may be a good match for a particular dog, you will be asked to fill out an adoption contract. Filling out the contract is not a guarantee that you will be allowed to adopt the dog, but will help us to find the family that fits the dog the best.
Once the contract has been filled out, a background check will insure that the dog will be cared for properly and will live a happy life. The time frame from application to adoption can be as short as a day or two, or as long as a few weeks depending on the particular circumstances of the dog and your family. An adoption fee will be charged for every dog adopted, but will very depending on age and health of the particular animal. Spaying and neutering is also required for EVERY pet, WE DO NOT PLASE DOGS TO BE USED FOR BREEDING under any circumstances.

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT WALK-IN VISIT’S. We are located near the town of Ireland, in rural Lewis County WV. But just a short drive from Parkersburg, Bridgeport and Charleston.
