Animal Advocates Brooke County , Inc is an animal welfare group dedicated to finding forever homes for animals at the Brooke County Shelter as well as other dogs and cats that are placed in our foster care. Our members have been leading the fight for a new animal shelter in Brooke County and have been responsible for hundreds of adoptions to date. We are a non-profit corporation and are presently in the process of filing for 501c3 status . We are always looking for volunteers that want to make a difference and have fun doing it. AABC has recently partnered with the Brooke County Animal Shelter in obtaining a $10,000.00 PEDIGREE Adoption Drive Grant. The grant was awarded through the American Humane Association. The grant was awarded in support of AABCs and the Brooke County Shelters project to have a new spay/neuter surgery room at the new shelter as well as other amenities for the animals once the new shelter is constructed. The grant writing was a collaborative effort between Cassandra Nicols,Shelter Director and AABCs Founder and President, Steve Tennant.
