If you've lost/found a dog/cat...

Email us: canineadoptioncenter@gmail.com a photo of the dog/cat along with a description.

Color photos are best to show the pet's full body.

Tell us the pet's weight, age, sex (spayed/neutered?), where/when it was last seen and of course the pet's name.

Toy Donations Needed!

Our residents need toys too!! We need your generous donations to help the pets here at the Mon Canine Adoption Center feel loved and comfortable during their stay.

We would request donations of dog and cat toys. The dogs particularily like the rope chew toys. We also need scoopable kitty litter.

Mostly we'd like you to adopt...but in the mean time, we thank you so much for keeping our homeless pets in mind with these donations.

Who We Are

The Mon Canine Adoption Center is funded by our Monongalia County Commision. We are Animal Control and Humane Officers for Monongalia County.

The Canine Adoption Center is a manditory spay/neuter facility. This means that all pets are altered before they are put up for adoption. We are so happy about this!

There are so many homeless pets and so few homes - spay and neuter is the answer to prevent this overpopulation problem.

Thanks so much for adopting from your local shelter and giving a home to one of these wonderful pets!

Things you should know...

Here are some of the Mon Canine Adoption Center (MCAC) operating procedures for your information.

The MCAC accepts cash only. All adoptions are $85 per pet, and are done on a first come first served basis.

The adoption fee includes a 5-way vaccination for dogs, 4-way vaccination for cats, one dose of wormer and the pet's spay or neuter.

We recommend you take your newly adopted pet to a vet for a wellness check-up.

Rabies vaccinations are NOT included in the adoption fee.

No pets can be "held" for any reason.

Adopting a friend

The Canine Center has both dogs and cats up for adoption. We encourage you to come visit the dogs and cats. The cats are kept in a separate area from the dogs. This is for the calmness and comfort for both the pets - and you and your family when you want to come meet them.

We strive to provide a nice atmosphere for all our adoptable pets.

We often have puppies as well as mature dogs. Many times we have purebred dogs. But make not mistakes - the mixed breeds make wonderful devoted pets too!

Shelter pets are so thankful for your home and will reward you with a lifetime of uncontional love and loyalty. We, and they, thank you for opening up your home to them!

We also have lots of cats in need of homes. We often have kittens. Please come by to meet and adopt your new feline friend!

We do not issue refunds for any reason!
