Who We Are

H.O.P.E. (Help Orphaned Pets through Education) Safehouse, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer animal care organization, a ‘safehouse’ dedicated to the care and re-socialization of lost, injured, neglected, and abandoned pets. Through education and example, we extend the qualities of safety, shelter and compassion to all animals under our care, in our homes, on the streets and in the wild. We offer them HOPE.

Adopting a friend

All our canines are in foster home, so if you come to our office to see them . . . there won't be any here. You must first fill out an application before we can connect you with the foster mom & dad. Some of our available pets have a restricted adoption radius of approximately 75 miles in Wisconsin; less in Illinois. If you live outside this area, please visit a shelter or rescue closer to your area. Please note that we approve adoption applications on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in adopting one of our critters and you are not in the Racine, WI area, it is advisable to send in the application quickly. This is particularly important when applying for puppies as they are adopted very quickly. There is a 24 hour processing time on all adoptions. You can find an application on our home oage www.hopesafehouse.org . This application can be sent by e-mail, fax or the postal service.

The adoption fee for cats is $58. (Adopt two felines at the same time and the second adoption is only $40) Dogs are $88.These fees include the following:

All adoptions through H.O.P.E. Safehouse have a lifetime guarantee. If for any reason the animal does not work out, it must be returned to H.O.P.E. Safehouse.

Placing the animals into quality forever homes is our top priority. We want to recognize and keep these good homes a part of the H.O.P.E. Safehouse family. After the initial adoption fee of $58 for cats, $88 for dogs (or $98 if adopting two cats at the same time), adoptive families qualify to adopt future companion animals at no additional cost, provided however, the adoptive family completes an adoption application for the selected pet and continues to meet the required adoption criteria.
