"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

Luka is a four year old blond haired German shepherd mix. He is on the smaller side weighing about 45 pounds. Luka was originally placed by GSRAW and has recently been returned to us due to family circumstances after four years. During Luka's 4 years with his family he was well cared for and much loved. Luka is good with kids and other dogs. He can be a bit possessive of his treats, nothing too bad. He is not however possessive of his people, he's friendly to all visitors. Luka stays close by when out doors, does not run away and comes when he is called. He is very trustworthy in the house, no accidents and has had free run. Luka is very smart and affectionate; he loves attention, but is not demanding. He's a pretty laid back guy. He has been allowed on the furniture so we are working on some retraining there. He sits and stays when asked. He doesn't chase cats but barks at them and they do become intimidated. He's very sweet and really wants a family of his own again.

German Shepherd Rescue Alliance of Wisconsin
Who We AreOn March 30, 2001, German Shepherd Rescue Alliance of Wisconsin, Inc. ("GSRAW"), was incorporated, although operations had begun in the support of the defined mission more than one year prior. GSRAW has no shelter and operates utilizing a phone, post office box, and internet networking system. Occasionally, boarding kennels are options used to save an animal's life. Although we are newly formed, collectively our members have many years of experience in evaluating temperaments, fostering, placing and training German Shepherd Dogs. Our acting president is Sue Hasey, a name which may be familiar to many of you. GSRAW views its mission as increasing public awareness against animal cruelty and overpopulation while rescuing and finding homes for displaced and unwanted German Shepherd Dogs throughout Wisconsin and further, if needed. GSRAW has a long-term dedication to this breed and its fair and humane treatment.
Our organization provides a single service: the rescue, support, and placement of unwanted or displaced German Shepherd Dogs and occasionally mixes, regardless of age, size, sex and health. GSRAW differentiates itself among breed rescue groups by focusing on a single set of goals, which include education of the public to the proper care of the breed. GSRAW will seek work with shelters, veterinary offices and private individuals to achieve these goals.
German Shepherd Rescue Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We gladly accept donations which go to help cover verterinary costs of spaying, neutering and otherwise bringing rescue dogs back to proper health. Your donations are tax deductible.
