We hate to say 'Goodbye' to you, but the time has come..........
After many years devoted to Shih Tzu rescue and the joy of knowing that we placed more than 500 dogs in Forever Homes, we regretfully must announce that Fuzzy Pawz is discontinuing its operations effective immediately. This was not an easy decision, because we know how great the need -- especially in the current economy. There are so many pets in need of rescue, and more are being abandoned every day.
We are pleased to announce that we have designated OUR HOUSE OF HOPE K-9 RESCUE in Gurnee, IL to carry on our work. All of our supplies, microchips, and extra crates will be donated to them.
We have been able to place all but three of our fosters. We continue to try to find a Forever Family for them, so if you have space in your home and heart, please contact us right away. Until these three have been cared for, we will not donate any funds. However, once they are taken care of, any remaining funds will be donated to Our House of Hope.
To each of you, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support over the years. Many of you served as Foster Families; many more have become Forever Families; while your generosity enabled us to give every Shih Tzu in our care the medical attention and daily needs necessary to become healthy and well adjusted. Wihtout you, we could never have accomplished so much.
In the early years, we rescued as many dogs as we could to avoid euphenasia. Then in 2002, we applied for and received our exempt status as a 501(c)3 charitable entity. Without a holding facility, we continued to depend on you to be dependent on your willingness to act as foster families. In some cases, this became a long term commitment, as dogs were re-trained, socialized and regained their health. It has been an arduous task, but a richly rewarding one, too.
We urge you to continue caring and to give your support and encouragement to Our House of Hope as they carry on our mission. Whether you are a volunteer, a foster home, a Forever Family or a generous donor -- you are needed!
