About RCHS

Rock County Humane Society is a private, non-profit animal shelter located in Janesville, WI. We serve the community through animal intake and adoptions and also provide stray animal control for most municipalities in Rock County.

Adoption Procedure

Please visit Petfinder and the RCHS website often as we get new animals in every day. Our web site: www.rockcountyhumanesociety.com is updated hourly with the most current information about our adoptable animals. Our Petfinder pet list is maintained through the help of our dedicated volunteers, and is usually updated every few days.

1) Please visit our website www.rockcountyhumanesociety.com We are open Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 12pm-7:00pm, closed on Wednesday, and open Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-5:00pm.


Our goal is to place each animal in a happy, healthy, and safe environment.  At the same time, we want to provide you with an animal that will give you years of pleasure and enjoyment.

We are located at 222 S. Arch Street, Janesville, WI.  We are 45 minutes from Madison and 1 1/2 hours from Milwaukee.
