The first step in adopting a dog from Muttley Crew Rescue is to fill out an application.
After completing an application, one of our volunteers will process your information. All landlord and veterinary references will be checked. We will then conduct a very brief phone interview. This is just to ensure that you are being matched with the right dog for your personality, lifestyle, etc.
The final step is a Meet & Greet. We ask that all members of your household and all other dogs in the household come to this Meet & Greet. There may be other families waiting for a Meet & Greet, so we ask that you schedule your Meet & Greet within 3 days of being contacted by the foster family.
If your Meet & Greet goes well, and the foster family feels you are a good match, you will be able to adopt that day. There is an Adoption Agreement that will need to be completed and you will receive all health records, vaccine history and information to date on the dog. Your dog will have a collar, but you will need to bring a leash. We also ask that you obtain an ID Tag with your name and phone number within 72 hours of adopting.
The adoption donation is $300.00. We do not accept personal checks under any circumstance. Please have your donation available in the form of cash (exact change please) money order or cashier’s check. Your Adoption Agreement does contain the adoption donation, and can be used as your receipt. Donations are non-refundable, without approval from the Board of Directors. If you return the dog within 5 days of rescue, we will work with you to find a suitable dog. If your dog has not been spayed/neutered due to age and/or health restrictions there will be an additional $25 refundable deposit due at the time of adoption. Your foster family will inform you of this when contacting you.
Muttley Crew Rescue is a small animal rescue that services Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Muttley Crew is primarily focused on rescuing dogs that are facing certain death due to shelter over crowding. We are a group of loving volunteers who do not get paid for what we do. We do not receive funds from any local, state, or federal entity. We survive solely on donations from adoptions and from wonderful people like you!
