Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a no-kill, volunteer-run nonprofit organization that is dedicated to changing the lives of homeless pets and helping people in need in Northeast Wisconsin.
We were formed by a small group of animal lovers in the Fox Valley in September, 2008. By the end of the year, we had adopted out 61 animals and saved 91!
We are a small network of foster-care homes that takes in abandoned, neglected and abused homeless animals, primarily from other rescues and shelters. We care for these pets in our homes until they are adopted, or, if they require lifelong care, we provide them sanctuary.
Our mission is to save the lives of homeless animals, one at a time. We provide compassion, love and the highest quality of care for each animal, in a comfortable environment. We give any extra care and nurturing that is needed for those pets who may otherwise be deemed unadoptable—the shy, the sick, the orphaned, the injured, the abused, the neglected, the unwanted misfits.
All donations go directly to the pets: to buy the food, supplies, medications and veterinary treatments for the homeless animals in our care.
We work tirelessly to ensure a better future for the homeless pets of Wisconsin. We will change the world, one pet and one person at a time.
Adopting a Friend
You can meet our adorable, adoptable cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, bunnies and more in our foster care homes or at our community partners. The adoption fees are based on their status, age and needs.
Please refer to the individual bio of the pet you are interested in adopting to learn more and connect with the foster home - or contact us at
orphananimalrescue@yahoo.com. Our amazing vet partners, All Creatures Animal Hospital, Fox Valley Cat Clinic and Wolf River Veterinary Clinic make this work possible and we are eternally grateful. There is an adoption application, screening and contract to complete an adoption.
4: When you are approved, you can arrange a time with the foster home or community partner to pick up your new forever companion. Because we are volunteer-run, please allow us 24-72 hours to process your application.
Adoption fees:
+ 1 Adult (6+ months) Spayed/Neutered Cat: $50
+ "Buddy System": Adopt 1 Adult Cat, and the Adoption Fee is Waived on the Second Adult Cat!
Adopters of unaltered kittens must make a confirmed appointment with their veterinarian for spay or neuter upon adoption.
+ We reduce the adoption fee to $25 for most Special Needs Pets.
+ The adoption fee is waived for any approved adopter over the age of 60 or on a fixed income.
+ Dog and puppy fees are determined on a case-by-case basis.
+ Rabbits and small animals are $25. Small animal supplies (cages, etc.) are also often available for an additional small fee.
These fees do not come close to covering our expenses; in fact, our expenses are often 3-4 times the adoption fee. We are volunteer-run and receive no funding; we rely completely on donations to save the lives of the homeless pets in our care. We seek to match our feline and canine orphans with the best possible home for both the pet and the family—to ensure the best lifelong companionship for both.
Consider sponsoring a special needs pet, donating to our vet care or helping out with fundraising. We often take kitties in that need extensive veterinary care, sometimes requiring procedures that cost thousands of dollars. You can help by selling candy, putting out a donation canister or simply posting printable posters of our adoptable pets. Visit
our How to Help Web page or contact us at
orphananimalrescue@yahoo.com and we'll share how you can help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets.
