Who We Are

Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a no-kill, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that is dedicated to changing the lives of homeless pets and helping people in need in Northeast Wisconsin. We were formed by a small group of animal lovers in the Fox Valley in September, 2008.

We are a small network of foster-care homes and a small Adoption Center at 810 S. Commercial St. in Neenah, Wisconsin. Our Adoption Center houses many of our adoptable cats and kittens and we are open to the public every Wednesday from 5-7pm and every Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm. We take in abandoned, neglected and abused homeless animals, primarily working with other rescues and shelters. We care for these pets until they are adopted, or, if they require lifelong care and our resources allow, we provide them sanctuary. Our adoptable dogs are cared for in foster homes.

Our mission is to save the lives of homeless animals, one at a time. We provide compassion, love and the highest quality of care for each animal, in a comfortable environment. We give any extra care and nurturing that is needed for those pets who may otherwise be deemed unadoptable—the shy, the sick, the orphaned, the injured, the abused, the neglected, the unwanted misfits.

All donations go directly to the pets: to buy the food, supplies, medications and veterinary treatments for the homeless animals in our care.

We work tirelessly to ensure a better future for the homeless pets of Wisconsin. We will change the world, one pet and one person at a time.

Adopting a Friend

You can meet our adorable, adoptable cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, bunnies and more in our foster care homes, at our community partners or at our Adoption Center. The adoption fees are based on their status, age and needs. Please note: dogs and bunnies are cared for in private foster homes.

Please refer to the individual bio of the pet you are interested in adopting to learn more and connect with the foster home - or contact us at adoptions@orphananimalrescue.org. Our amazing vet partners make this work possible and we are eternally grateful. There is an adoption application, screening process, and contract required to complete an adoption.

Here’s how to adopt:

1: View our Adoptable Pets on www.petfinder.com.

2: Download and complete a cat or dog specific Adoption Application at http://www.orphananimalrescue.org/HowToAdopt.html.

Hard-copy applications are also available on-site at our Adoption Center at 810 S. Commercial St in Neenah.

3: Submit your application.

E-mail cat adoption applications to adoptions@orphananimalrescue.org.

E-mail dog adoption applications to amy@orphananimalrescue.org.

Or, you can fax your copy to 920-273-6108 or turn in a hard copy application by putting it in our mailbox at the Adoption Center at 810 S. Commercial St. in Neenah.

4: After processing your application, we will contact you. If you are approved for the next step in our process, we will contact you to meet the pet. Because we are volunteer-driven, please allow us 48-72 hours to process your application.

Adoption fees:
+ 1 Adult (1 year+) Spayed/Neutered Cat: $50
+ "Buddy System": Adopt 1 Adult Cat, and the Adoption Fee is half for the Second Adult Cat! $75 for two

+ 1 Spayed/Neutered Kitten (under 1 year): $80
+ 2 Spayed/Neutered Kittens: $130
+ 1 Cat and 1 Kitten (both altered): $100 All cats/ kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

+ Dog and puppy fees are as follows: adult dogs $175 and puppies $250. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

+ Rabbits and small animals are $25. Small animal supplies (cages, etc.) may be available for an additional fee.

These fees do not come close to covering our expenses; in fact, our expenses are often 3-4 times the adoption fee. We are volunteer-run and receive no funding; we rely completely on donations to save the lives of the homeless pets in our care. We seek to match our feline and canine orphans with the best possible home for both the pet and the family—to ensure the best lifelong companionship for both.

Please Help Us!

Consider sponsoring a special needs pet, donating to our vet care or helping out with fundraising. We often take animals who need extensive veterinary care, sometimes requiring procedures that cost thousands of dollars. You can help by selling candy, collecting used ink cartridges, aluminum cans and cell phones for recycling, putting out a donation canister or simply posting printable posters of our adoptable pets. Visit our How to Help Web page or contact us at adoptions@orphananimalrescue.org and we'll share how you can help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets.
