LOOKING TO ADOPT AN OUTDOOR DOG? CHECK OUT THESE DOGS!!
CCHS is not a shelter who adopts just any of our dogs out as outdoor dogs. Very rarely do we in fact adopt them to that situation simply because most live tied to a chain, left in a kennel and rarely get affection. We feel dogs are companion animals and should be part of the family...indoors. Most dogs want to be with you, which is indoors to protect and cuddle. Plus, we could never take away the luxury of sleeping in a cozy bed from a dog who has been used to living inside with a family and adopt them to an outdoor lifestyle. From time to time we do have dogs who have always lived outdoors and prefer that type of lifestyle. Not to say that some of those dogs wouldn't adjust to an indoor life, but below is our list of dogs suitable for outdoor living (to approved setups only!)
