The Lost Companion
Who We Are
The Lost Companion (TLC) came together in the summer of 2006, when a group of women saw the need to help a feral (wild) cat population in the village of Wild Rose, in central Wisconsin. To help these cats, a nonprofit organization was set up using the guidelines of Allied Cat Allies, an organization which has advocated for nonlethal methods (TNR) to reduce outdoor cat populations, for over a decade. Nonprofit status was granted to us in May of 2007. A TNR management plan was set in place. In our first year, over 150 cats have been spayed/neutered through our TNR program and 100 kittens have been taken in from outdoor cat families to be socialized. Socialization in foster homes helps the kittens become acquainted with humans so that placement into indoor homes is an easy transition. It is these kittens we have on this website for adoption.
We are looking for permanent, loving homes for our cats and kittens. Before considering adoption, please make sure you are ready to make a lifetime commitment to your adopted cat and that you have the time and financial resources to be able to properly care for your new member of the family.
Our normal adoption fee is $75.00 or 2 for $125.00. This includes spaying or neutering (or a certificate for sterilization), first vaccinations, testing for feline leukemia and FIV, deworming, and flea preventative. All cats must be taken home in a carrier.
