Who We Are
The Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) was founded in the spring of 1977 and by January of 1979, formally opened. The facility is located at 200 N. Memorial Drive in Merrill, Wisconsin, to care for stray and unwanted animals. The shelter handles approximately 1000 dogs, cats, and other animals per year.
The animals at the shelter are cared for every day, 365 days a year and the shelter is open to the public six days a week, Monday through Friday 12pm to 5pm and Saturday 12pm-4pm. Appointments are also accepted. All species of animals are accepted.
Adopting a friend
Like almost every animal shelter in the nation, we wrestle with the problem of animal overpopulation every day. During summer and fall our shelter is filled with kittens and puppies that need good homes. Come spend some time with our animals and see if you should adopt a lifelong friend! To assure that a pet is a compatible match for you, we encourage spending time with your prospective adoptee. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to get more information about the adoption process and get an application for adoption. Please specifiy which animal you are interested in.
