Who We Are...
Furry Bottoms Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit dog rescue serving Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and can receive tax-deductible donations.
We do not operate a shelter so the number of dogs we're able to help depends on the number of foster homes we have available to house them. Please consider offering your home as a temporary refuge for a dog until a forever home can be found. It takes loving and caring individuals and families to keep us going. Our Mission:
The mission of Furry Bottoms Rescue is: -- to take in abandoned and displaced dogs and place them into loving, permanent homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters where they've been scheduled for the kill floor. Others are from private owners who no longer want their animals, or can't take care of them.
Our goal is to help provide a safe harbor for these dogs that might otherwise be destroyed.
-- to educate people on how to be good pet owners by helping them better understand dog behavior, training, and the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We believe knowledge is the key to reducing the number of dogs who are abused and homeless.
Adopting a friend...
Adoption Process:
Our animals are fostered in private homes so we operate by appointment only.
We do updates often so please keep checking back if you do not see an animal
that interests you, or let us know what you are looking for so we can be of
assistance. You must fill out an adoption application for the animal you are
interested in. After we have received your application, we will call you to
set up an appointment for you and your family to come and meet the animal.
Once all parties have agreed that you (your family) will be a perfect match
for the animal, we have an adoption agreement that will need to
be filled out. During this process we will also do a home check.
Note: It is our policy to only adopt to homes where the dogs and cats currently living there are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on their vaccinations. Applications that don't meet this policy will be rejected.
Adoption Fee:
We have a variable fee scale that is dependent on the individual dog/puppy. Please feel free to inquire about the adoption fee for the dog you're interested in. *Please add 5% sales tax to the adoption fee.
Dogs adopted from Furry Bottoms Rescue include the following:
Stool check/treatment
Flea check/treatment
Heartworm test
DHPP/DHLPP vaccine(s)
Rabies vaccine (age appropriate)
Completed spay or neutering
Pet Care Literature
Lifetime support and training consultations
A copy of your dog's veterinary records
For your peace of mind please know... Furry Bottoms Rescue is committed to making sure the dog we adopt to you is well-cared for. All of the dogs we take in are checked by our veterinarians, receive the necessary vaccinations and/or medical attention, and are spayed or neutered before being adopted. Our goal is for every dog to be happy and healthy, both here with us and in their forever home!
