Meet Lacey, a puppy mill dog who has come a long way since she was rescued by WAAGR. Lacey is a good ambassador for WAAGR at our events and loves to be petted. She is quite a love and would like to find her forever home.
News
This year has been a busy one for the volunteers of WAAGR. We have attended a few pet expos, many meet and greets throughout the State, and held various fundraisers throughout 2009. And we have helped a few dogs along the way too.
The year is not over yet! Watch our Web site for the latest information on all our events. Our Goldens Holiday House will be Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. We also will be at various meet and greets throughout the rest of the year. Check out our Web site for all the details on where we will be next. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you throughout the rest of 2009. If you see our WAAGR volunteers at various events throughout the state, be sure to stop by and say hello!
Who We Are
Wisconsin Adopt A Golden Retriever is a 501 (c)(3) non profit corporation in the State of Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide bright new beginnings to displaced golden retrievers. In order to best serve our available goldens and our adoptive families, our adoption area currently is limited to southeast Wisconsin, the Fox Cities/Green Bay, and the Madison area (areas where we have volunteers available to do home visits). We took in our first golden retriever on May 4, 2005, and he was adopted by one of our members. WAAGR is an all volunteer/member organization and we are always looking for volunteers! If you would like more information about WAAGR, please visit our Web site at www.waagr.org.
Adopting a friend
If you find a WAAGR dog you would like to adopt, please go to our Web site, www.waagr.org, and fill out an adoption application on the "Adopt Me" page. One of our volunteers will call you to set up a home visit once we receive your application. Home visits are an important part of the process so we can find out what kind of dog you would like to add to your family. "Adopt Me" page also includes the WAAGR adoption process and should be very helpful.
Come Visit Us!
All of our foster dogs are kept in WAAGR members' homes since we do not have a kennel facility. Throughout the year we participate in Meet & Greets and other events to help spread the word about WAAGR. The dates are listed on our Web site. Stop by and visit us at one of the events - we would love to meet you!
