We Believe That The German Shorthaired Pointer Is A Special Breed With Special Needs, Which Are Sometimes Overlooked By People When Purchasing A Dog. We Save Shorthairs because it's our Passion! We Work With Potential Adopters To Find These Lost Shorthairs Great Homes. Our primary goal is to Work With Adopters And Shelter Agencies To Make Sure There Are No German Shorthaired Pointers Left In Wisconsin Shelters To Be Euthanized For Unjust Reasons.

If You Are Positively Interested In Adopting A German Shorthaired Pointer Through Our Program, There Are Only A Few Easy Steps That Must Be Completed. Each Step Is Carefully Reviewed By Our Adoption Personnel To Ensure The Placement Is Best For You And Your New Friend. To help with the economy, WGSPR is shopping for best vet prices so we can extend our savings to you! Adoption fees: $300.00 for adults, $375.00 for puppies, $200.00 for seniors over 8 yrs ~ which merely covers the vet bills!

Owner Surrenders: EVERYONE is going thru hard times right now! When considering to surrender your dog, think very seriously about the consequences for that dog. Think of the trauma it will inflict? Think of a way to keep your dog at all costs, they WILL adapt, as you adapt.
While it is this rescue's first priority to purebred GSPs in shelters, whose days are numbered and fate is inevitable; WGSPR will do it's best to help owner surrenders re-home their GSPs as we can. We may not always have immediate space to take your dog, you might have to be prepared to hold it for a bit, because shelter dogs come first!! PLEASE, we are not exactly made of money either; have your dog altered, up to date on all vaccines, proof of heartworm status, and for a donation to WGSPR your dog will be placed on our website, and Petfinder for adoption. We NETWORK for these dogs! All potential adopters will be screened prior to meeting with your dog. Your dog will be processed thru WGSPR for adoption, and adopter will sign our standard adoption contract to protect your dog's best interest for the rest of his life.
