Our Featured Pet...

ADOPTION PENDING-This is Casper, he is an absolute sweetheart who has life threatening injuries. He apparently got caught in a barbed wire fence, his neck, leg, side of his chest and his belly from his groin to between his front legs were ripped open. He was left in this condition, the owner was going to shoot him after a week and a neighbor stepped in and took him the Humane Society. There, he was taken to the Vet, he had gangrene in his belly wound and the Vet's had to remove a lot of skin and dead tissue from that area. When we got him, he had stitches on either side of his chest in which the bandages were laced up in to keep the would clean and moist. Through all of that he would lay there and let us work on him. When we took him into rescue we brought him to our rescue Vet, Dr Pat did an assessment and decided to try to sew him up. He has been at the Vet Clinic since, and there has been a set back as his stitches are loosening. He is now on wet to dry compresses until it starts scarring over. It could take months for it to heal and in the mean time he could have complications at any time. He will have to stay at the clinic until it starts scarring over. This boy is one awesome dog, no matter what we do to him (and it's a lot) he is gentle and kind, submitting to poking, prodding, stitching, lacing without complaint. He deserves every chance in the world to make a full recovery and go to a home that will treat him with love and respect. Please consider making a donation for his care, you can either use paypal or if you want, send a check to: Animal House Pet Clinic, 3171 Voyager Drive, Green Bay, WI 54311, Attn. Casper. I have not included pictures of his injuries as they are very graphic and wouldn't want children to stumble onto them, if you would like to see pictures send an email to Nancy at calspence@aol.com Even if you can't donate, please say a prayer that Casper will heal quickly. Thank you very much.

Who We Are

White Paws GSD Rescue is a non-profit organization founded by a small group of people dedicated to the German Shepherd Dog breed. All monies collected are put toward helping the dogs to find a better life. We conduct home visits, coordinate training, transport dogs to and from the veterinary office, conduct fund-raisers and bring dogs to select locations so they can meet the public, and the public can meet them to see what a wonderful companion they truly are. We are working to educate the public about the German Shepherd Dog breed and also the importance of spaying/neutering to help keep the pet population under control. Mission Statement: Our mission is to help ensure the welfare of all German Shepherd Dogs by rehabilitating and placing unwanted and abandoned German Shepherd Dogs from shelters and similar situations into new homes and providing education and guidance to new owners.

Adopting a friend

In order to adopt a dog from White Paws German Shepherd Dog Rescue Inc. you must fulfill the requirements. You must fill out the adoption application, have both your personal and your Veterinary references checked and a home visit completed by a representative of White Paws German Shepherd Dog Rescue Inc. The adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies under 1 year of age and $150 for seniors 8 and up. All dogs will be spayed/neutered before placement unless too young. In that case we would need a statement within 2 months that the spay/neuter had been done or the dog must be returned to the White Paws GSD Rescue.
