SAT. FEB. 18th from 2 PM til 4 PM, we will be at Petco in Rib Mountain (Wausau, WI) for a meet and greet with our rescue Shih Tzu needing homes. Please stop by to visit us and meet our rescued Shih Tzu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before filling out an application to adopt, please make sure this is a thought out decision. We don't want to have to start charging a processing fee like so many other rescues are doing. But we want you to know we are all volunteers with families and jobs and to put so much time into checking references and doing home visits when you really aren't sure you want to adopt is time we could be spending with our foster dogs. Shih Tzu Rescue of Central Wisconsin is an all-volunteer organization, dedicated to saving the lives of abused, abandoned and unwanted Shih Tzu or Shih Tzu mixes. Our organization is based in Central Wisconsin. But we will adopt our rescue Shih Tzu out to homes in IL, MN, IA and MI also. Each and every dog accepted into the program undergoes a physical examination by a veterinarian, is spayed/neutered, brought up to date on shots, heart worm checked, started on monthly heart worm preventative medication, de-wormed, and any other medical problems they may have will be treated prior to being adopted. We have no shelter - all of our dogs live in foster homes in the Central Wisconsin area until we find them a home. The adoption fees are based on the age of the Shih Tzu. These fees are used to offset our vet bills and range from $125.00 to $400.00 depending on the age of the Tzu. (please note that we only accept cash, money orders or cashiers checks-NO personal checks) We do not adopt out to families with children under the age of 6 years old. Shih Tzu Rescue of Central WI is in NEED of FOSTER HOMES and/or volunteers who have time and dedication to help fund raise, pick up the Shih Tzu from shelters, check references and do home visits. You must live in the Central Wisconsin area to be a part of our organization. Serious and dedicated inquiries only and you must stay actively involved. DONATIONS are always needed and appreciated to help us in our rescue efforts. Our wish list includes: Gift cards from Petco or Petsmart (for dog food and dog treats, please email to find which brands) Gas Cards (to help us with fuel costs in picking up needy Shih Tzu from shelters in the state and doing home visits) Dog toys, harnesses, collars, leashes, etc. If you'd like to sponsor a spay or neuter, please ask for our vet's phone number where you can pay directly to our rescue vet account.
