Who We Are NHS was authorized as a non-profit organization in 1987. Our shelter was opened in Oct. of 1996 on an 87 acre site. It is surrounded by beautiful rolling fields that change with the seasons, making our volunteer-mowed walking trails a never-ending source of pleasure. We have 16 dog runs and 30 cat runs. The building also includes an office, receiving area, visitation room, cat and dog isolation areas, indoor and outdoor play areas for cats, three outdoor exercise runs and a 100 x 100 fenced play yard for dogs. Other areas include laundry & grooming, kitchen and storage rooms. We have a small paid staff and rely heavily on volunteer help in all areas. There are always too many animals, too much to do and far too little time! But, in spite of it all, the shelter is a fun place to work or visit. Our animals are treated like the individuals they are and for many, this is the first stable and kindly home they've ever known. We have a website at http://www.northwoodshumanesociety.org or you may e-mail us at email@example.com .
Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone.
If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.
