Our Mission Volunteer Program Directions Newsletter/Becoming a member Lost & Found Hours Fees
The Door County Humane Society provides a safe haven for lost and homeless pets with the hope of reuniting them with their families or placing them in new loving homes. We strive to serve as an invaluable asset to our community. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care and compassion to each and every animal while providing a friendly, welcoming environment for visitors to the shelter and potential adopters. We are a not-for-profit organization which exists solely on private donations.
We can always use more volunteers to take care of our furry guests. Please call Nancy Fisher, Volunteer Coordinator, to register for the next volunteer orientation. 920-746-1111.
To get to our shelter from U.S. Highway 57 coming north from Green Bay turn left on County PD, cross County Highway C and go about 1/4 mile. We are right accross the street from the Cherryland Airport.
If you are coming from intown Sturgeon Bay, take County C to County PD and turn right.
Our sign is rather difficult to see because it faces the road but you will find us set back far from the road up a long gravel driveway.
Our quarterly newsletter is available on our website or available as a mailing to members. Please contact the shelter for more information on becoming a member: 920-746-1111.
Please contact the shelter if you have a lost or found pet in the Door County area. We will do everything we can to help reunite you with your pet!
Public hours are Noon - 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Tuesdays, Thursdays and evenings by appointment.

Senior Pets for Senior Citizens
Door County Humane Society has a special program for people age 55 & older who would like to adopt a senior pet, 5 years or older. We realize how important pets can be in our lives, so we are offering 20% price adoption fees for those senior citizens looking for a special pal to keep them company. Older pets are calmer & more settled than kittens or puppies & will be very grateful for a safe, loving, permanent home. So, if you're thinking of someone to retire & take it easy with, come visit the shelter. You may just find that someone ... at a special price!
Buddy Plan
Because we have a large selection of adorable kittens & cats at our shelter we are offering a special rate if adopted in pairs. Cats are very social & love to have company so we are offering this rate for kittens or any two adult cats adopted together. Half price for the second cat!
We also have our "Overlooked Room." These loving cats are more shy and are looking for families with cat experience who have the extra time and energy. Most of them have been with us at the shelter for longer than we hope. To help find loving families for these overlooked cats, we are offering half price adoptions at all times for all of the cats in this room.
