Need a Tax Break? Vehicle donation through MAPPARR is an easy alternative to selling or trading your car, boat or other vehicle. Your donation to MAPPAR helps to continue to makes a difference in the lives of animals, and helps you at tax time. MAPPAR accepts donated vehicles, that are sold through a variety of selling venues to maximize the value of the vehicle and the tax deduction. Proceeds help support MAPPAR programs and services. A vehicle donation to MAPPAR is a good way to get a great tax deduction while helping animals at the same time. MAPPAR accepts vehicles, boats, rv's, motorcycles, mobile homes, and houses, with good resale value. After we receive your vehicle, our volunteers, through a variety of selling venues, determines where to sell it for the highest possible return to maximize the value of your gift. MAPPAR handles all legal documents and provides you with a receipt and information for your tax deduction. CONTACT US at 608-215-8658 info@mappar.org Have your vehicle, keys and current title ready. Memorials – A thoughtful and special way to remember those who have passed away is to request that donations be made to the MAPPAR in lieu of flowers. Memorial plaques can also be purchased and engraved and will be hung at the Shelter. Memorial donations in memory of human and animal loved ones are included in our newsletter, “MAPPAR News.”
Planned Giving -- Including MAPPAR in your will or estate plan is a wonderful way to help the Friends of MAPPAR further its mission with a lasting legacy. Planned gifts allow the Friends to continue to provide essential care and services to homeless animals while building a strong foundation for the future. Bequests and other contributions to the Friends of MAPPAR qualify for certain charitable tax deductions. More detailed information on planned giving is included on this website.
Buy MAPPAR Merchandise – You asked for it! MAPPAR logo workshirts, T-shirts, hoodies, messenger bags, coozies, and calendars make great gifts and are available at the Shelter and online here. All proceeds help our Shelter animals.
Attend and/or Sponsor Shelter Events – We hold a number of fundraising events during the year, with 100% of all proceeds going for the care of our homeless animals. You can see this year’s upcoming events on the Fundraising section on the home page. We look forward to seeing you!

Animals Pay the Price of the Bad Economy
Not only are adoptions down, surrenders high, MAPPAR has been experiencing a serious shortage of donations. MAPPAR cannot continue the work without your help. Even $5.00 or $10.00 will make a difference. Please donate today.
If you are unable to donate at this time please consider ways to help that will not cost you a single penny.
Every penny raised for MAPPAR goes directly to help the animals. MAPPAR has no paid staff! The volunteers and board members give as much as they can out of their own pockets.
There are many ways you can help our homeless animals and support MAPPAR's Farm and Domestic Animal Shelter. Here are just a few:
Adopt a Shelter Animal – Instead of going to a pet shop or breeder, please consider adopting a shelter pet. Shelter animals are special and will thank you every day for giving them a loving, permanent home.
Volunteer – Consider donating your time and energy by helping with animal care, fundraising, and special events. Volunteering is a great way to:
Donate – As you can imagine, we use a lot of supplies, from food and toys to paper towels and laundry detergent. For instance, we go through a ton (yes, you read that right!) of cat litter each month. To replenish our supplies, we rely on donations from people like you. All of your donations goes for the care of our Shelter animals. Here’s how you can help:
Wish List – Please check our Wish List, which is updated regularly and included on this website, on area supermarket donation bins (see below), and in our newsletter, “MAPPAR News.” We are constantly in need of wood pellets for litter, and the following are need ASAP:
- Hay
- Straw
- 4 Wood burning stoves
Cash – Don’t carry all that heavy, extra change around! Donate it in our MAPPAR donation banks, conveniently located in participating local shops, convenience stores, and at the Sanctuary. Haven't see one? Ask your local retailer or business if we can bring them one. You’ll feel good and your overloaded wallet will thank you!
Help set-up Supermarket Donation Bins – Ask grocers if you can set up our signature red and white donation bins at your local grocer. Then people can drop off donations. We will appreciate these stores’ continued support and encourage you to patronize these area supermarkets!
Silent Auction and Raffle Items – Are you or your company interested in:
- Valuable exposure in the local community with no advertising costs?
- Corporate awareness among your customers and employees?
- A note of personal thanks?
- Tax deductions according to federal guidelines?
- Personal satisfaction from supporting a local, no-kill animal shelter?
Then consider donating a silent auction or raffle item to one or more of the MAPPAR fundraising events. Some of our best sellers include: theme gift baskets, animal related products, restaurant gift certificates, cars, scooters, boats, mopeds, spa and personal care gift certificates, food and wine, travel and accommodations, and sports memorabilia or tickets. Ask Your Employer About Company Matching Gifts – What an easy way to double or triple your donation to MAPPAR! Many companies encourage their employees to make charitable donations by offering a matching gift program. Your company’s matching donation to MAPPAR – a tax-exempt, non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization – qualifies for certain tax deductions. Contact your company’s human resources department to determine if your employer matches gifts to MAPPAR. If MAPPAR is not on your company’s list, please email, or call (608-215-8658), and we will send out an information packet to your company’s human resources representative.
