The HAWS shelter is located at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, across from the Waukesha County Airport and approximately 1/4 mile east of the Waukesha County Expo Center.
Directions from I-94 east or west: Exit Hwy. J and head south about one mile, turn west onto Northview (also called Hwy. FT) about 1/2 mile to the shelter.

Who We Are
HAWS is a private, non-profit, entirely donor-funded organization that is dedicated to the humane care of treatment of all animals. Established in 1965, HAWS has operated an animal shelter at its current location since 1969 and offers a wide variety of programs and services to the people and animals of Waukesha County.
Adopting a Friend
HAWS is open daily (except major holidays) from 1-5 p.m. for viewing and adopting animals and from 1-7 p.m. Wednesdays. Adopters must complete an adoption application and provide identification, proof of home ownership or landlord consent, consent of all adults in the household and be at least 18 years of age.
