We are a GREAT place to adopt a new dog or cat. Our residents are waiting for you to give them a new loving home -- they came to us because their previous owners could not keep them anymore, or they were abandoned or unclaimed strays.
Not all our available pets are listed on this Web page. We encourage you to come in and visit our animals in person. We have two locations, our main shelter in Kent and a second smaller location in Bellevue (Crossroads).
New dogs and cats (and puppies and kittens) become available every day. Our adoption prices are among the lowest in the area and it is a great value when you adopt from King County Animal Care and Control! At the time of adoption you can also have a microchip implanted in your new pet for a modest additional charge. All pet adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, pet license, collar, vaccinations, free bag of pet food, educational materials, and MORE! (Please also note that some pets listed on this Web site may have been adopted already)
Visit our Web site at www.kingcounty.gov/pets for more information about our agency and available pets. If you have any questions about any listed pets, please call our Adoption Line at 206-296-3936.
Pet ID is key to returning lost pets home!
King County wants you to know that you can renew or purchase a new pet license over the Internet, for pets living in our King County licensing areas. What could be easier? Visit www.kingcounty.gov/petlicensesonline and you can protect your pets with license identification.
