Who We Are

Love A Mutt Pet Rescue is a 501c3 animal welfare organization. The organization was created by experienced, responsible pet owners and animal lovers who believe that rescuing, fostering, and adopting homeless animals is not enough. We must educate the community in responsible pet care, as well as, find forever homes for our rescues. We work locally to help pets in need of safe haven and warm homes. We work internationally to give hope to dogs who otherwise would have none. We believe that it is not only the quantity of pets saved but the quality of care they get while in our care.

Adopting a friend

A new pet can provide you and your family with more unconditional love than you can imagine. Careful research and planning are essential to being a pet owner. It requires more than just providing adequate water and shelter. A pet is a lifetime commitment and should not be taken lightly. Our goal is to match you with the perfect pet. The dog that might be perfect for you might not be the cute pup that you saw on our website. That pup may chew on furniture and bark all night long, while another dog in our care would be great with your children and love your cat. We therefore require that you fill out an adoption application so that we can assess exactly what you are looking for in a pet, and try to match that. If we think we have a pet that is right for you, we will contact you with the information we have on that animal and if you are interested we will schedule a time for you to visit. We are interested in adopting only to homes that are seeking a lifelong companion and are willing to make the time, emotional and monetary commitment to make that happen. If you are interested in adopting a lifelong companion, please fill out our application!

Surrendering Ownership Of A Pet

If you wish to surrender an animal it will be subject to a temperament evaluation. Owners surrendering their pet will be asked to complete a questionnaire on the animal's behavior. If you must surrender your pet but the situation is not urgent, consider keeping the animal as a sort of foster pet while we look for a home and facilitate the adoption. All surrendered animals must be properly evaluated and preferably up to date on vaccines (when applicable) prior to placement in foster care for the safety of our foster animals. Please consider donating your pet supplies to our rescue when surrendering a pet. This is a big help to rescue as it cuts down on rescue and volunteer costs. SURRENDER FEES: There are no surrender fees for animals coming into LAMPR but we would appreciate any donation you have to offer! Remember, we spay, neuter, vaccinate, deworm, and have all pets examined by a veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything you can donate will help absorb the cost involved with rehoming your pet.
