We are a very small, newly formed 501 c(3) corporation run solely by 1 or 2 volunteers. We are NOT an animal shelter and do not have a facility to take in dogs. We are a private residence that takes dogs from shelters into our care on a foster basis. We then work diligently ti find these dogs permanent, forever homes. Everything is done on a strictly volunteer basis. We normally have 2-3 fosters at time that we are working with. To adopt a dog from us, the first step in the process is to email and request an application. We will not set up a meeting with any dogs until the application requirements have been fulfilled. Our goal is to find the best match for these dogs. They have already been through a lot and we are here to represent them. Therefore, our interest lies in the protection of the dogs. We charge adoption fees in the range of $150 - $350 to cover the costs of vet care, incl. spay/neuter, and vaccinations. There is no negotiation re: the rates. Rescue dogs have baggage, just like most people. Please do not expect to get a perfectly trained dog that will do everything that you ask. Sometimes this happens, but most of the time, we don’t have much history on these dogs. They’ve either been dumped at a shelter or been found wandering loose in the streets. We do not do DNA tests on each dog, but base our breed listings on our many, many years of experience of working with all types and varieties of dogs. Again, there is not a guarantee that these dogs are the exact breeds listed, but we put forth our best effort to label them based on our personal experience. All dogs that are in our care get crate-trained and socialized, and learn some of the basic commands. However, we are not trainers and concentrate mostly on the care of these dogs. Training, incl. basic obedience, recall, lead work, is the responsibility of the new guardian of the dog. The training process provides a bonding experience for both the dog and the people. Our hope is that all dogs will find their forever home, and no dogs will ever be homeless, but that is a large feat to take on, and we try to do what we can one dog at a time. Thank you for considering a rescue dog.
