With so many special dogs in dire need each day we don't know how we could pick just one. All of our dogs are equally deserving and need a loving forever home. If you are looking to fill your heart with the love of a dog who is desperate for a forever home, a family to love, and someone to cuddle with please contact us. We would love to help make a match for you.
Who is Saving Great Animals?
Saving Great Animals is a match-making rescue and not a shelter. We have no public facility. We work individually to do our best in matching your desires and lifestyle to the best animal pal. We love what we do! We are Seattle-based but have representatives in all parts of Washington state.
We are volunteer-based and everyone in our rescue works full time at paying careers, so please be patient with us as it can take 24 to 72 hours for a response. We are working hard behind the scenes, trust us!
Saving Great Animals has been working tirelessly as a no-kill, foster-based rescue for the last 8 years. In 2007, SGA became an official member of Petfinder and is now working with a wide network of foster homes and numerous shelters around the state to find permanent homes for animals that are deserving of love and a family. Many of the dogs and cats we rescue would otherwise face unecessary euthanization.
We also work hard to bring dogs and cats into SGA directly from their former home so they animals will never enter the shelter system which has environments that can be very stressful for them, even though we know so many shelter workers who are tireless too in helping the animals.
A very small percentage of our dogs come to us from our sister-shelter in Taiwan, where these dogs are typically rescued from deplorable circumstances.
All of our pets available for foster or adoption are listed on PetFinder at (http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WA418.html).

We work with other organizations to help provide training classes/seminars and will soon be posting these on our website. As we are able to train more foster families and gain new volunteers to help us with our rescue efforts, we expect to continue growing and expand our abilities. Below is a quote sent to a recent group of families that had just received their new foster 'babies' and it really hit home the impact that they had just made in offering up their homes and hearts to help save these dogs.
'What you have done has changed one tiny little life forever. And that little life will affect many others along the way just starting with you and your family.'
If you are interested in fostering or volunteering, we want to hear from you! We are finalizing our 501 C-3 status; and do appreciate any and all donations as 100% of our funds, every penny, goes to the animals. We are always extremely tight on funds, frequently dipping into our own pockets.
